Interesting blog post at Neurologica:

It makes many of the same points I've been making here.

What a great article!

"This is more circular reasoning – Christians believe in God and this has transformed their lives, therefore God exists. This is a profoundly naive argument. Human psychology is a far simpler explanation. In fact decades of psychological research have shown that basic human psychology – the need for meaning, control, understanding, etc., all lend themselves to religious faith."

This is obviously what's going on. I like how Craig
has to chime in about how atheists can't possibly
find meaning in their lives without god. This is
exactly what FrG used to say months ago. It's so
wrong and so out of touch.

That was 2 years ago, I wonder if there's been an updated poll.

It's amazing how far apart we are in our thoughts. That article was garbage from the beginning to the end, just the old tired and incomplete, illogical arguments from atheists. So sad.

So sad.

That's because you're caught in the circular
thinking trap. You're on a hamster wheel.
The hamster thinks he's really going somewhere,
just like religious people think their being
directed by god. When they're actually just
directing themselves. You'll never see that
because you choose not too see it.

Whose on the hamster wheel? Do I need to remind you of reincarnation?

LOL! And you think you're not on it too
just because somebody told you
different? It's not what happens
after we die, it's what we do in between
lives that's important.

Think about it. Thousands of different
religions if you count the offshoots.
They can't all be true, but they can all
easily be false. Doesn't matter what we
believe, we get to come back and think
about it again.

Okay so for you we are all on a cosmic hamster wheel, but it doesn't matter because we should just focus on what we do before we die. Then we get to come back and do it all over again. Get me off! It does matter what you do before you die because after we die we are judged and granted eternal life or death.

Still more Good News.

http://chronicle.com/article/Losing-Faith-in-Religious/231359/

I like this quote: "I can say, however, that my path to faithlessness began by putting my religion under the academic microscope." It vindicates the virtue of an active mind.

No evidence pointing to that at all. None.
Lots of evidence pointing to reincarnation.
Why is that. Could it be your version was
made up out of whole cloth by men who
wanted to control people? And still do?

What's the first thing that happens when
you join a church. They show you the rules
of what you can and can't do. In your church,
it takes up volumes. Control. Who would you
rather be, the guy giving the sermon, or the
guy listening to it. The answer is obvious.
