EB, you know nothing about Star Wars, yet you are obsessed with it for some reason...

"Future Star Wars spinoffs" are on hold. That's cool, seeing as Lucasfilm never said there were going to be any future spin offs.

Episode 9 starts filming next month. Rian Johnson's new trilogy is still a go. The new trilogy from the Game of Thrones guys is also still a go. That's at least 7 new Star Wars movies in the next decade....

Also, I said Solo was good, not great.

Episodes 7 and 8 were GREAT.

I think that means the main series will be coming out every two years. It's the "Star Wars Stories" on the even years that are on hold.

Star Wars: Episode IX ------ 2019
Star Wars: The Last Jedi $1,332.5 -- 2017
Star Wars: The Force Awakens $2,068.2 -- 2015
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith $848.8 -- 2005
Star Wars: Attack of the Clones $640.9 -- 2002
Star Wars: The Phantom Menace $983.6 -- 1999

A Star Wars Story
Solo: $344.3 -- 2018
Rogue One: $1,056.1 -- 2016

More than likely Disney will resume the Star Wars Stories as part of their streaming service. It will be one of the best ways to build up millions of subscribers in a short time.

I think it is backing away from what they originally intended to do. Every other year a main sequence sequel, interspersed with standalones such as rogue one, solo, and whatever else they had planned but apparently are putting on hold.

It seems like one Star Wars movie per year has always been the Disney plan.

2019 is Episode 9.
2020 is (most likely) the first entry in Rian Johnson’s new trilogy.

They had never announced any standalone would be released in 2020 or beyond. So when these articles say they’ve been put on hold, what has?

Opening Solo in May instead of December turned out to be a huge mistake. They’ve learned their lesson.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Meh.

I can’t get over how weirdly plotted this movie is. Half of it is your typical Jurassic movie taking place on an island with dinosaurs. The other half takes place in this weird CGI gothic mansion where some bad guys are auctioning off the dinosaurs.

There is no tension at all. You know all the good guys will make it and all the bad guys won’t (except the one that needs to make it to the next film).

The ending does set up an interesting path the next movie could take. But I have no faith that these filmmakers can live up to its potential. THANK GOD they fired Colin Trevorrow (director of Jurassic World 1, co-writer of this one) off of Episode 9!

I don't know, but all of the headlines are pretty clear - the spin-offs are now on hold.

But the question is - what spin offs are on hold? There were never any spinoffs announced besides Rogue One and Solo.

Rumored Boba Fett and Obi Wan spinoffs.

https://slate.com/culture/2018/06/lucasfilm-reportedly-cancels-planned-star-wars-spin-off-films-for-boba-fett-and-obi-wan-kenobi.html

However the basic fact is, their plan was to put out a mainline movie every other year, and a non mainline movie in the gap years.

The gap year movies are on hold.
