I was looking forward to this last
night, I put it off even so I could
enjoy it. I liked the first big scene
where he beat the fire beast.

Then they took his hammer away
and I said WTF, the hammer is the
thing in a Thor movie. Then he went
to a Gong Show planet with insipid
one liner jokes in the script, and
Jeff Goldblum playing a dopey
host of Stupid Planet. Then Thor
proceeds to get beat up by everybody,
even a little girl who acts more like
a man than he does. And his sister,
with antlers on her head, was the most
ridiculous bad guy yet.

Dumb awful stupid movie.

I could have told you you’d hate it. Have no idea why you were interested in the first place. And I kind of find it hard to believe that you actually watched the first two (two of the weakest Marvel movies there are...).

I liked the first two, especially the
Loki character. He was almost totally
missing for most of this movie, and
when we saw him he was rarely up
to his old tricks. The brotherly rivalry
between Loki and Thor is fun, but
not in this one. And Hulk is always
the most boring Avenger. A big
green stupid guy, oh boy. He was
in this movie wayyyyy too much.

I knew there was trouble when they
]had to pad the lineup with cameos
by Cumberbatch and Matt Damon.

I have been counting the days until the opening of Won't You Be My Neighbor. Finally the day as arrived and it is playing nowhere in Vegas!

Won't You Be My Neighbor? doesn't open in Las Vegas for two weeks (22 June).

On Friday (22 June) "Won't you be my neighbor" expanded to 348 theaters (including Las Vegas). Has anyone seen it over the weekend?

Spoilers about Loki and Thor’s Hammer from the new Avengers movie:

Loki dies in the first five minutes of Avengers Infinity War. For real this time.

Thor also gets a new hammer (technically it’s an ax now).

It's almost like they finished the
movie, saw it sucked, and did
scenes with Cumberbatch and
Damon to stick at the beginning
to trick people into thinking it
was much better than it was.

I hate to point out that Matt Damon was not responsible for selling many movie tickets in 2017
12/22/17 Downsizing
11/03/17 Thor: Ragnarok
10/27/17 Suburbicon
02/17/17 The Great Wall

One spoiler is that it does seem like they were making the movie and suddenly they had a meeting where someone pointed out that the word Ragnarok was in the title. A plot point which seems to have been completely overlooked through much of the movie.

Glad to hear. I’ve been in Colorado and New Mexico the last week but plan to see it shortly after returning this afternoon.

"For All Mankind"

Still think it is one of my favorite documentaries I've ever seen. I hadn't watched it since I originally saw it so wasn't sure how it held up. Found it on YouTube and after watching the first 15 minutes got sucked in and was watching until 4am.

Won't you be my neighbor has one of the slowest roll outs I've ever seen.

1st week 29 theaters
2nd week 96 theaters
3rd week 348 theaters
4th week 654 theaters

It's even slower than the 2014 "The Theory of Everything"

1st week 5 theaters
2nd week 41 theaters
3rd week 802 theaters
4th week 826 theaters
5th week 1220 theaters
6th week 1011 theaters
