6 packs a day, can you imagine?

It's hard to. I've known quite a few chain smokers, but I think the worst of them were in the 2 to 3 packs a day range. Come to think of it, all of them died between ages 55 and 65, I would estimate.

Being in Vegas for such a long time have you noticed a diminished presence of wheelchair/oxygen fed gambling patrons? Casinos were the biggest hold out to providing non-smoking areas, but it has improved over time. Not sure what their current ratio is of smoking/vs non-smoking areas.

I know at one time, you might be able to find one tiny area of non-smoking gambling, if that.

Nevada was or is one of the smokiest states.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

To answer the second question first, there has been no noticeable improvement in non-smoking areas. Many poker rooms are non-smoking and some sports books now. There is seldom a separate non-smoking area for general gaming. If there is, it is a small slots-only area, and usually with no barrier between it and the smoking area, except a sign. Nevada has got to the most non-smoker unfriendly state in the country.

I haven't really paid much attention to the oxygen tank numbers. You certainly will see that at casinos that cater to the elderly, especially in the bingo rooms. If forced, I would say little change. I'm sure they patrons die off quickly but they are replaced by new ones.

Zodies is no more but when that no smoking in places that serve food law passed, Zodies closed its large kitchen and put up a HUGE sign about Smokers Welcome. Everyone was welcome at that place and they were proud of never having discriminated against heterosexuals although they primarily appealed to just about every permutation and combination of sexual proclivities. The only requirement was to smoke like a chimney.

I never got into smoking tobacco
It just seemed so illogical
Most of my friends and relatives on my American side growing up smoked.
They seemed real concerned with their image and wanted to look older and cooler
I just did not buy that coolness factor. Thought is was a stupid reason to smoke
Now all of them regret the decision to smoke lol

In the American west even those who did not smoke usually carried 'the makings' for social reasons, insect bites, etc.

Inhaling a peace pipe was probably always a wise move but otherwise not everyone smoked.

Advertisements are not always indicators of actual behavior so we don't always know what took place in ordinary life.

A QUIET PLACE

I won't spoil what is happening with Emily Blunt in this picture, but it's NOT GOOD (and yes, that's a creature's hand in the background).

I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND this one. Very tense and suspenseful, and doesn't overstay it's welcome at a nice 95 minutes.

This is almost a silent movie. The hook is that there are sightless creatures that will find and kill you if you make any loud noise. That can be tricky when you're raising a young family. Long stretches of silence ensure that if you see this in a crowded theater, you will hear tummies rumbling and cell phones vibrating.

I suspect this one will have "legs" at the box office. Word of mouth will be good.

With insanely good reviews and a Production Budget of $17 million it looks like we have another big time entry into the profitable horror film genre.

The only trailer I've seen was annoyingly stupid. Shows the family walking quietly across a bridge, when the son who lags behind has a toy that gets loud, thus attracting the creature. So laughingly lame. Who gave him the toy if silence is important? Why was he allowed to walk with that toy? So f'ing stupid for a trailer. No interest in such idiotic movie.

Here’s some Hollywood kismet... Emily Blunt also does the voice of Juliet in “Sherlock Gnomes”.
