The only trailer I've seen was annoyingly stupid. Shows the family walking quietly across a bridge, when the son who lags behind has a toy that gets loud, thus attracting the creature. So laughingly lame. Who gave him the toy if silence is important? Why was he allowed to walk with that toy? So f'ing stupid for a trailer. No interest in such idiotic movie.

That's basically the first scene of the movie. Unbeknownst to his parents, he found the toy while the family was in a local pharmacy looking for medicine.

Blockers is another low budget movie coming out this weekend that is expected to make a profit.

WB should give up on DC comics and form a division to create raunchy comedy and horror films.

Finally saw BFG on Nflix. 40min was all I
could take. Beautiful movie, dull story and
even duller characters. The little girl in
the lead was the best they could do?
She was so boring it was unwatchable.

Read the audience reviews on Rotten
and they agree. It was a BO flop too.
After 40min there had yet to be a plot,
so I gave up.

Millicent Simmonds, who is actually deaf, does an outstanding job in this film playing the daughter. The role allowed her to demonstrate a wide range, and in a key scene you can actually see her communicate with her mother, played by Emily Blunt, with just a subtle change of expression. The scene is very well done by John Krasinsky as director/writer.

If you can suspend disbelief enough to accept the premise that blind aliens could dominate humanity, you will find good performances in this film. However, the fact that fresh cornfields are all over the place more than a year and a half after the alien invasion really takes you out of the groove. Who planted all of these crops?

I give it 7 oxygen masks out of 10.

**Today's sign that Mr. Rogers really is dead - There were no less than three families with children under 7 in the theater for this PG-13 rated Horror/Thriller that relies on on screen silence as a plot device. What are those parents thinking? "Everyone in the theater will understand when my kid asks for more food during a key silent scene." or "It's okay when my kid starts crying when all hell breaks loose on the screen, who could have predicted they would react like that?"

There's a profit generating segment of the population (aka, adolescent boys) that will pay to see these over the top gross sex comedies in theaters. I think the credit for creating the genre and setting bar really low goes to "Samuel L. Bronkowitz" (aka, John Landis of "Animal House" fame) for his "Kentucky Fried Movie".

I saw "The Greatest Showman" last night and it was great! Unfortunately it seems to have very little in the way of historical accuracy, but a great musical none the less.

I remember the Kentucky Fried Movie. I really liked it, when I was much younger.

A little careful internet searching revealed that the school girls segment is available on pornhub, if you search there for Kentucky Fried Movie. Don't forget to wear a condom.

By the way, Pornhub awarded a $25000 scholarship for women in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)

When the R rated film was created in 1968, the original 49 films were mostly horror, thrillers, and movies where the criminal gets away with the crime. But there was one sex farce (Candy) with an actually pretty incredible cast of well known actors. But, the movie does not seem to have been geared specifically to teenage boys.

I vaguely remember “They Came To Rob Las Vegas “. I’ll have to track it down again. I’ve never seen “Candy”, but I don’t think I missed anything. Most modern gross sex comedies are just crude situations hoping for a laugh. “Dirty Grandpa”, “Borat”, anything with Amy Schumer (her “I Feel Pretty” opens April 20).
