And, yet, all those nations have a longer life expectancy than in the US.

Mostly due to demographics.

Americans are also the fattest people in the world.

'We are in the midst of a national obesity crisis, and Americans are getting heavier. Today, about 65% of adults and 15% of children and adolescents in the US are overweight or obese.'

Add to that, sedentary lifestyle, smoking, homicides, drug overdoses, suicides, automobile deaths, and a high infant mortality rate among non-white and non-Asian ethnicities.

Hopefully, the US will figure a way to provide basic health insurance to everyone, with the option for private secondary coverage.

No they do not, we can easily look at what is occurring in nations that transitioned to national health systems and national insurance systems. It is cheaper care, better care, and often shorter wait times.

https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/health-care-wait-times-by-country

Cheaper, certainly not better, and the wait times are months longer.

When Mick Jagger needed an aortic valve replacement six years, he could have had the surgery anywhere in the world, but he chose to have it in NYC.

That year, he was one of the nearly two-million annual medical tourists who come to the US every year to receive medical treatment.

His brother commented "At least he has not got to wait in line for the NHS".

'NHS cancer patients denied supportive treatments'

'Canadian doctors accused of pushing medically assisted death on patients'

"‘You really should consider MAID. You’re not living. You’re just existing.’

'Canadian mom, 57, diagnosed with aggressive stomach cancer was told to consider assisted suicide by doctors who said country's universal healthcare system could not save her'

She received life prolonging treatment in Baltimore at her own expense, and is currently in remission.

In Canada she was told she had as little as two months to live, but they were not sure they could get her an appointment with an oncologist before then.

Lots of these kinds of stories but the left wingers never give up on their dream of socialized medicine.

America has plenty of medical malpractice, fraud, overcharging and turning away patients except for emergencies. And about a million or two go to Mexico for cheaper service. I don't worry where rich people get medical care. No one needs to. They can go anywhere.

The ACA lowered the uninsured population from 16% to 7%, but it's still too expensive.

Those percentages are misleading. The higher percentage of the population that is insured today compared to 2010 is due to the expansion of Medicaid, which added 26,000,000 non-paying enrollees since 2010 and is paid for by the Federal government and state and local sources. The taxpayers.

The cost for Americans that actually pay for their medical insurance has nearly doubled since 2010. Nothing affordable about that.

Currently $24,000 annually for a family of four, plus a $12,000 deductible.

If Mexico fare is better then go. I’ve cursory looked at it for dental implants as do many people. It isn’t cheaper because of socialized medicine it’s cheaper because of lower cost of business.

We hear of ERs jammed with people using it as care then we hear of people being turned away. Which is it?

And you believe medical costs would have been going down over time? Really?

Bottom line is he is showing the Obamacare claims are not what they make them out to be.

ER care is the care you're allowed even without insurance if it's an emergency. So, yes, it can be jammed with patients. It has nothing to do with how MUCH needed treatment you might ultimately need in longer term care.
