I was miffed with Trump going ahead with the attack on Iran without getting a war powers act or even consulting with Congress, but I am also really wondering if we want to force pulling away from the conflict now. Are we going to just allow Iran to get back to business unhindered?

Well I guess we have to note the vote was over "to withdraw U.S. forces from Iran or win approval from Congress" ... I can't be against that exactly but I have the above concern

I'm kinda surprised the pro-gun lobby didn't suggest repeatedly air-dropping rifles and ammo once we had control of air space, so the populace could actually try out the whole idea of you need guns for opposing tyrannical power.

Way cheaper than what we've been doing, and Revolutionary guard already has guns, so they aren't really helped. Just keep air dropping footlocker sized boxes all over Iran.

I mean, didn't Bibi and Donny both say that the regime would fall from within, almost as soon as the bombing started? What happened?

They were wrong and have lied since day one.

Typical.

This is a very interesting Fox Video alert that came out this morning. Rubio said that it is possible an Iran deal could come as soon as this afternoon, or maybe in the coming days (so essentially another meaningless timelines statement.)

However, the verbiage that is most interesting is regarding the uranium, Rubio first said that the deal would need to remove all uranium, but then quickly corrected himself, and said they would remove "highly enriched uranium."

Iran is going to be able to keep the same (or relatively close) levels of uranium they had under the Obama deal, I am calling it right now. Trump's promises for months about all uranium being removed are nonsense.... My guess is a deal will involve opening the strait with no ongoing toll and they keep the uranium (just like before the illegal war.....) And, there will probably be less layers of inspectors and surveillance than under Obama's deal....

This war was never about uranium, it was about regime change, more and more is leaking about that everyday. And, when Israel's plan for the new leader to rise up failed because he got scared, Trump entered panic mode and wants to get out because there is no centralized force to rally behind, and he is terrified of the U.S. rebuilding a country for years with no local power to take the lead. You really cannot make this stuff up..... Trump wanted to win a nation building war without having to be the main power on the ground. I do not think he knows how stuff works... Without even leaving Iran as a case study, you can see how foolish this is...

(Very good story covering the true war goal. It was all about a new leader. Anyone claiming nuclear weapon fears is lying.)

"An Israeli strike designed to free Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from house arrest in Tehran, U.S. officials said, was part of an effort to bring about regime change and put him in power.:

The problem with this "genius" plan is Ahmadinejad hates the U.S. and Israel, and probably Jews in general (it is fair to call him antisemitic.) So why would the West (well not really, just Israel and U.S.) have a grand plan to bring an old enemy back into power? Nobody seems to know, and the planners will not publicly admit it yet. It is possible it is simply because he is weak, and it would cause internal disruption if he was back? I do not know, but until we get more leaks, we can only speculate. But, it is true there is zero good reason to bring him back, the whole thing is an insane plot to rope the U.S. into another war.

It's a clasdic clusterf**k
I think Trump is negotiating with himself with all the latest updates
He's in way over his head.
He's listening to the dumbest people on the planet. Former TV talking heads or maga diehards
They are totally clueless on how to get out of this
I have to be honest
I didn't think Trump would actually purposely cause this big of a clusterf**k in his 2nd term
I really underestimated how stupid he and the people around him are

Credit to Hegseth for enhancing the stupid. In the list of batshit crazies, he's the cream of the crop..... And you've had some doozies.
Just remember who put that idiot in charge of 'defense'. Same guy who put sicko Kennedy in charge of health and bimbo Gabbard in charge of intelligence.

He didn't put those morons into their roles to 'yank the chains of the libs' He did it to destroy America.

Trump's way out is now irrelevant. He could die, happy, tomorrow knowing what a shitshow he leaves behind just as one more piece of unfinished business.
He's a destroyer and that's the one thing he excels at.

https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/us-iran-war-live-updates-peace-deal-strait-of-hormuz-trump-israel-oil-prices-11539479

It looks like unless something changes, we will be getting a peace deal (not really, keep reading,) today, maybe as early as by noon. A variety of leaks, and vague hints can allow us to piece together a general guess as to what it will contain.

(These are my speculations:)

1. Not actually a peace deal. It is rather a long term extension of the cease fire while both sides agree to work towards a "permanent" solution.
2. Reopening of Hormuz during the ceasefire.
3. Release of frozen assets to Iran to be used for rebuilding. And, possibly relief and exemptions of various sanctions.
4. A written commitment to not build a nuclear weapon.

Basically the "peace deal" today (if it does happen,) will basically just be an extended ceasefire with a couple minor agreements, while they work on a real deal. This also has the potential of turning into a Korean War, which we are technically still at war with since the 50s, but just stuck in a perpetual ceasefire because no permanent solution can be reached, but we also don't want to get back on the ground...

It looks the removal of "highly enriched unranium," will be discussed in the coming weeks, so no concrete plan will be in place today.

Sounds good to me. The word ‘war’ doesn’t carry any weight if we are still ‘at war’ with North Korea. To me, if we aren’t killing them (Iranians) and they aren’t killing us (Americans) we are not ‘at war’. I don’t care how someone else defines war.

So if f Hormuz opens, the results will be…. Decimated Iranian Navy. Decimated Iranian Air Force. Dozens of top Iranian officials eliminated. Damaged/destroyed Iranian nuclear facilities. Their top scientists gone. Decimated Iranian economy. (That’s bad..). US stock market up 8 weeks in a row. That’s EIGHT.
We will see if oil prices drift downwards. Possibly not. Same with overall prices.

I can tell you what’s important. We are having a Memorial Day party here and the kitchen sink is clogged. Mr. Roto Rooter on the way….

Today is a at least a time and half or perhaps even double time day!
