I sometimes wonder if it’s ‘good’ for me to get involved in the chatter here. But this convo has jogged my memory! In a positive way! My freshman year at Columbia I lived on a dorm floor with a quite diverse group of guys. I now remember one kid was of Mexican dissent, and referred to himself as a ‘wetback from El Paso’. I am (pretty) sure back then you had to be in the country legally to attend. What I most remember about him was his utter disdain for the heat and humidity in NYC! I guess it’s all context.

That is true, but the way they are doing it is fascist. Mechanism matters, not just overall content.

1. No Obama followed treated him like an emperor. MAGAS literally say "God Emporer,' when referencing Trump. This point is null.

2. His acceptance speech was fine.

3. He did not try even loosely to nationalize healthcare. I wish he did. He did a plan that was a big blowjob to the insurance industry, and it was originally a GOP plan.

4. The IRS targeted some groups, not under the direction of Obama. Most of these groups had anti-IRS stances, not just generic conservative groups. Obama opposed this and even a GOP led investigation determined Obama had zero knowledge of this occuring.

5.Bailing out companies is not taking over. Frankly the U.S. should have taken them over (nationalize,) instead of throwing money at them.

6. DEI is a good thing. But, believing in something that you don't make policy positions for is irrelevant anyway, so this is a non-point.


Obama is not fascist. Trump is fascist.
