Not really.

The REAL America would provide for the swearing in of elected officials without any religious entanglements such as swearing on the bible or the koran.

Hello, separation of church and state.

Good point. Requiring a ‘swearing in’ implies there is a deity that you are beholden to. An ‘affirmation’ that you are accepting the duties and responsibilities of the office should be all that occurs. If anything needs to occur at all.

Democrats going 'Full Muslim'

On his first day in office, Mamdani cancelled Mayor Adams executive order prohibiting city agencies from boycotting Israel and divesting from Israeli investments.

He also cancelled Mayor Adams order requiring the NYPD to evaluate conditions for protests outside houses of worship.

Mayor Adams order came after a demonstration outside a Manhattan synagogue, where protesters were screaming inches from the faces of worshipers.

Governor Hochul followed Mamdani's cancellations by declaring January 'Muslim American Heritage Month', and ordered sixteen State landmarks, including the Freedom Tower, built on the ground where 3,000 people were killed by Muslim terrorists on 9-11, to be illuminated green in honor of Muslim American Heritage Month.

Definitely don't approve of religion being brought onto public land. But it's all the fault of people thinking Church and State should be melded together. Or Christianity is the foundation of America and not freedom.

Muslims just doing the same thing too many Christian's trying to do. Insert their religion into government as much as possible. Yeah, it's likely even worse, but no sensible persons were smart enough apparently to set the right example, i.e., religion outside of government.

The REAL America does do just that. There's no requirement to take solemn oath, just an affirmation if one desires. There's also no requirement to swear on a bible or Holy book. John Quincy Adams took his oath on a book of laws. Teddy Roosevelt didn't use a bible. in 1901.

Maybe we should start using a stack of Superman comics? You now, for "truth, justice and the American way"!

Now that's interesting.

Are you saying then that the default is no bible and that folks have to affirmatively request to swear on the bible (or koran), otherwise a book is not used?

I doubt Trump said "oh sure, give me the bible."

Or is it just a custom that people don't question and had they known they had a choice would be afraid to opt not to swear on the bible for fear of antagonizing christian voters?

You could save time and just say he cancelled all of Eric Adam's executive orders, instead of focusing on the two random orders Adams had that were actually alright.

(He just did a blanket cancellation of all prior orders, he did not break down order by order....)

This is a highly misleading post.

Would you like me to find a bunch of Adams executive orders not cancelled by Mamdani? Since you used the word ‘all’? It seems like he hasn’t revoked ANY of Adams’ orders from before September 26.

The post isn’t misleading at all. Your post is misleading if you are implying Mamdani didn’t specifically target the Adams order allowing NYC to show support for Israel over the Hamas terrorists. And safeguard NYC Jews in general. He speaks well. He hides his antisemitism in words like ‘protect all New Yorkers’. He is what is known as ‘a wolf in sheep’s clothing’.
