Too bad that isn't what's coming up for the new Trump ballroom.

Instead we'll get something which is uninspired, nouveaux riche and gaudy, just like the fat oaf hisownself.

Just watched a pretty long Mamdani interview. He is REALLY wellspoken. I think he answered all the questions and stayed true to his socialist philosophy. I like that he is not ambiguous on any of the big issues.

One point I wanted to ask the follow up…. Asked about the potential exodus of ‘the rich’ if his additional 2% tax on ‘someone making a million’, he cavalierly said $20k is not that much to someone making a million. He misses the point entirely. Earners in NYC ALREADY pay 14+% of that million, compared to say, ZERO, in Florida. Each worker has a different ‘straw that broke the camel’s back’.

Apparently he needs the NYS legislature to approve his tax the rich plan. Even though it is under 100% Democrat control, apparently it is not a slam dunk. NYS does not want to lose those high earners.

NY offers things, a life style, entertainment, dining, culture that simply cannot be found elsewhere in America.

All your problems will be solved by robots. Conclaves of wealth won't have to have large numbers of lower wage support people who will obviously keep voting for more attention to their needs and will always outnumber the top percent. But you could always get rid of one person, one vote.

Visit the Palace at Versailles as well.

Don't wait too long. Paris isn't what it once was.

Macron is the Joe Biden of France.

Mamdani just appointed a new corrections commissioner. He picked a guy with lots of knowledge about prisons…. AN EX-CON! Convicted of robbery in his younger days….

Maybe next a convicted sex offender for his rape counseling team?

An arsonist for his fire safety council? A jihadist for his religious freedom group?

Yeah, amazing, eh?

Can you imagine if the American electorate was ignorant enough to elect a multiply convicted felon to lead this country?

Man, we'd be well and truly fucked.

Oh, wait ...

Apparently the American public was that ignorant. The people of NYC are trying to match…

The guy was in jail many decades ago. So not likely any of the present day CO’s ‘took care of him’. But wouldn’t that be ripe if he got to interact with a CO that watched over him. And know he’s his boss!

If we agree in rehabilitation and second chances and being able to engage people with credibility and as stakeholders, this appointment isn't too surprising. Why would it be bothersome?
