I still buy his microwaveable rice I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

I worked all day today and thought it was strange that no other employees were online. I had no idea it was a holiday. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |

I’ll think for a few minutes about how ridiculous it was that people were ever enslaved. How lucky I am to live in a country that gives everyone equal opportunities. Then probably go golfing. |

I’ll think for a few minutes about how despicable it was that people were ever enslaved. I'll also pray that people who fought for the continuation of slavery on the side of the Confederacy continue to burn in Hell. How lucky I am to live in a country that gives everyone equal opportunities and freedom. Then, if it's a nice day, work outside in the yard. |

Nothing "ridiculous" about it: morally questionable, surely, but it was a necessary accelerant of economic growth. That's how the world worked back then: you might want to look into it...it's called "history." Slavery helped build the wealth of the west and enabled so-called "western Christian civilization" to be exported to and succeed in the New World. You might think of it as one of three ingredients which led to America's growth and ascent: slavery, immigration, untapped resources: the trifecta. |
