On January 20th, 2025 — the day President Trump was inaugurated — the DOW closed at $43,847.

On March 27th, more than a year into his second reign, notwithstanding the rise of AI, his ham-fisted, clueless rule has tanked the Dow: prior to starting the Iran debacle it hit $50K, but yesterday closed at $45,166.

Stories are being broadcast about him and insider trading being a likely scenario.

Just sick...Jail to the Chief!

No Kings!

Dow on 11/5/24 was 42,222, The Donald gets elected that day and on 11/6/24 The Dow jumps to 43,730, up 3.5% on the news that we're getting The Orange Man and not Harris as the next President. Today, The Dow is at 46,600, we're up 10%+ so far in the Trump Era, meh, that's fine, but the market isn't crashing. The facts & numbers get worse for the "market crashing" crowd if you use S&P 500 or Nasdaq as your index.

Gold was $2684 when Donald was elected, silver was $31.30. I don't think The Orange Man has much impact on that market either, but it sure has been a nice ride. Gold maples and Kangaroos were both under $2,800 in mid October of 2024. Can't get them for that now. A year later a 2025 Gold Buffalo cost $3,700, it's $5,000 today. But evidently, markets are crashing, just look at the title of this thread for proof.

But I agree, No Kings! Just elected leaders with 77M+ votes and a healthy Electoral College victory including all the EC votes from the seven "swing" states. Then give him all the powers of his predecessors. Budget Reconciliation, Nomination of Sup. Court Justices, The War Powers Act, etc. Trump got elected because the Dems initially put up a Dead Man in 2024 and then to fix that problem, they "hand picked" a train wreck in the form of a word salad bimbo from SF. You should really be out there protesting Nancy & Chuck for their skill set in getting The Donald elected a second time. Those are the true villains of the 2024 Election. Will Speaker Jeffries is any better?

You are missing the big picture
It's not that complicated
Trump got elected due to gas prices
Everybody uses gas.
He screwd up big time raising gas prices by starting a war with Iran
Unless he can lower gas prices, he's cooked for the midterms
That's the bottomline

I think Gavin is viable since I would vote for him over a republican

You're right on one thing, it isn't that complicated. Trump got elected because the Dems put up a Dead Man initially and then hand picked a an idiot of a candidate named Harris.

I also would consider voting for him, were I not committed to always voting Libertarian.

But my point is that I think he is too liberal, too progressive, to convince middle America to give him the nod: alas he's got a bit of that old "California stink," or so the electorate think.

Unleaded is $5.90 in CA, Nationally it is $4.06. Nominate Gavin and try and sell "Make All of America Like CA". Another high IQ Election strategy by Dem Leadership.

You actually think a republican that backed the Iran war can beat Newsome
High gas prices for the entire country are here to stay
Trump stepped into it big time

If you think Trump won because of ‘gas prices’ you are unteachable. Trump won because middle America rejected the Democrat party platform.

And anyone who thinks they know with any certainty if Newsom could/will beat Vance/Rubio/Etc.. in 2028 is just fooling himself.

Predictit has Newsom as the second most likely winner of the 2028 election to Vance. Rubio 3rd. AOC 4th.

So much to happen between now and 2028. Although most likely a ‘Blue Wave’ in November, still a lot can happen between even now and then.
