"Positive" for whom, exactly? Certainly not for me. I recently ordered some car parts for my 244 Turbo from Sweden; nothing was said on the website I ordered from about tariffs. Days after it was shipped UPS emailed me demanding over a hundred bucks additional for the fucking tariff. Fuck that, fuck tariffs and FUCK DONALD TRUMP ! |

I just don't have that godfather mentality, where what someone does for you validates their extreme lack of character. In the long run, it's always a bad bet. Trump's a bridge too far. I’m hoping you noticed the tongue in cheek nature of my post! My point is quite simple. Even if Trump is slimy, and does many things in a self interested way, I still can recognize some positives from what he does. Most on this forum just cannot! And yes, sometimes the positives are just accidental, but positive nonetheless! |

Positive for our COUNTRY! It’s GOOD that you are paying more for your FOREIGN parts for your FOREIGN car! Makes it MORE likely you’ll buy an AMERICAN car! And that’s a few hundred $$ more in the governments coffers and a few hundred $$ less in a rich guy’s (YOU!) bank account. EXACTLY how tariffs are supposed to work! |

Bullshit ! America brands itself as "the land of the free," right? I have, until now, had pretty much unhampered "freedom of choice" when it comes to buying things I want and need. I prefer to own and maintain older Swedish cars: why should I be punished financially for this choice? I mean, it is not like America makes or ever would make, due to low demand, the parts I need for my old Volvos. I am being taxed for buying parts from the only source available, which shits on the notion of me being "free." You gloat because now I, a "rich guy" am penalized for exercising freedom of choice...might I remind you that older Volvos such as I favor are usually NOT driven and maintained by "rich guys:" the usual owners are usually barely getting by financially and can ill afford this punishing tax. You say it helps the gov't coffers: sure, at MY expense and at the expense of my fellow Americans...fuck tariffs and FUCK DONALD TRUMP ! |
