It's funny how little you care how much government money Trump spends on himself.

RE: SOOPOO

When did you ever hear a government run hospital needs any staffing reduction? I've never heard it. Did you work at one? Never heard anything but complaints they are always short of staff.

That's why concentrating on the other things you mentioned probably make sense.

The Dow is down almost 900 points today.

Gee, looks like the bloom is off the Trump bump.

Agree that this free fall is directly attributable to Trump. NASDAQ at 17410 as I type. As bad Trump’s tariffs/firings/retirement offers have been I’m STILL willing to bet NASDAQ will be higher than 17410 3 months from today. Or a year. Or next Jan 1.

But boy does he look just plain wrong. What exactly good is he expecting to happen? (He’d say more American jobs to make up for the shortfall of imports).

as an investor, you wait and wait for the market to go down to present buying opportunities, but when it does you have the simultaneos sickening feeling about what happened to stocks you already own ... enough to make you hesitate. Happens every time

I'm modestly picking up some things, but really the market is not down enough to get excited. That sickening feeling is there tho

I’ve said before I think Trump is a Martingale/double down type of gambler personality. But let’s hope I’m wrong.

Ontario started a 25% surcharge Monday for the electricity it exports to three U.S. states.

Head of the Canadian province Premier Doug Ford has been an outspoken critic of the tariffs President Donald Trump has imposed on imports from Canada, saying he would restrict the electricity exports to Minnesota, Michigan and New York if the tariffs continue.

In a press conference Monday, Ford said they were moving forward with a 25% export fee on electricity for 1.5 million homes and businesses, and may increase it or cut it off depending on Trump's actions.

Ford estimated on average it would add $100 to monthly electricity bills for impacted Americans.

Everything you say about Trump turns out to be wrong so there’s that.

Riddle me this, MAGgots...

How will tariffs lower inflation "on day one" as promised?

Tariffs will INCREASE the cost of goods imported from affected countries: not good.

Yes, the "theory" is that tariffs will cause American companies to fill the void with American made products.

A noble aim, but unrealistic.

We got rid of our smoke stack industries and moved it all off shore: bringing them back will take both a lot of time and money.

Meanwhile we suffer...and for what?

So Herr Diktator will look strong and decisive to the idiots who elected him.

Pure madness.
