Look, we've had lousy candidates running for president for more than a decade, and there's no end to the mediocrity in sight.

Such a shame...what ever happened to "the best and the brightest?"

The founding fathers, through the electoral college process, basically selected who was going to be president. Once that generation died off, coupled with using the popular vote in selecting each state' electors, all bets are off on whether the cream rises to the top and gets elected president.

MSNBC uses a VIDEO from 2017 to mislead their viewer about the size of the No Kings rally in Boston. What a loser cable station.

That's no worse than the oaf showing images of other demonstrations and falsely claiming it was from the current Portland protests.

Except for the No Kings protest, you think a Harris administration would prevent you from enjoying the fine day that is today?

Not really. I think people WAY overestimate the importance of the President. I did fine under Biden. Even though he was clearly in cognitive decline, it had results similar to if a genius Democrat was in charge. And if Trump stops being President and Vance takes over, the first hole at Oakleigh will still be 128 yards.

As I’ve said multiple times, the only times these guys and gals can do real damage is when all 3 are of the same party. It’s only the dysfunctionality of the Republican Party limiting what they can do.

I disagree. The President wields enormous power of the course and trajectory over US policy. He signs or vetoes legislation and dares Congress to overturn his veto. He issues executive orders that increasingly have real meaning and perhaps enable him to govern (or perhaps rule) by fiat, He appoints the civilian and military officers of the US and charts their course. He appoints Federal judges, usually those who he thinks will issue rulings and decisions in the way he wants.

Is the importance of the President is WAY overestimated, why didn't you vote for Harris in 2024? I mean, if all you are concerned about is the stock market and gold course yardage, Harris wasn't going to change either. Again you are so unprincipled that you refuse to vote your own rhetoric, and you insult those of us who do.

Why? Because on the few things that I cared about Harris is diametrically opposed to my wishes. I abhor the concept of DEI. It actually TAKES AWAY from the successes of minorities. They are tainted with ‘only got the job because of DEI’. Heck, you’ve heard that many times about Harris herself. If the narrative was ‘person from CA, law school, prosecutor,Senator, VP, that would be plain and simple lauded for a successful career. But Biden and the Dems by mentioning her gender and color repeatedly DETRACT from her success.

The laws of our country are clear on who we allow in and who we don’t. Harris as ‘border czar’ was an ABJECT FAILURE at that job. The present administration is more aligned with my feelings on how to handle illegal aliens.

As far as the judges, in general I favor harder on criminals judges. And of course agree more with Republican bail and sentencing ideas. The number of times I read in my local paper ‘committed the rape while awaiting trial for…’ is far too high.

As far as ‘the military’, he brokered the release of the Israeli hostages, and of course we’ll never know, but I doubt Harris would have been able to accomplish that. Mostly not because it wouldn’t have been a goal of hers, but she’d be under intense pressure from the Hamas loving, Jew hating plank of her party.

The tariffs are working kind of how Trump invisioned. There was actually a surplus of funds last month even though the usual deficit was predicted. It would be big news except the media really hates lauding Trump for anything.

Anyway, if you want to say ‘enormous power’, I’m generally in favor of what he’s done compared to what Harris would have done.

And as I always end this type of conversation, if the American people disagree they can hamstring him during the midterm elections, and vote for a Democrat over Vance in 2028.

I definitely want to see someone standup and ask this at a presidential candidate primary where they're all on stage trying to get the nomination.

"Are you all really the best and the brightest America has to offer, or just the only ones running for office?"

China now using the same tactic Trumpie is using.

Quote:

In expanding export rules on rare earths, Beijing for the first time announced it will require foreign firms to obtain approval from the Chinese government to export magnets containing even tiny amounts of China-originated rare earth materials or produced with Chinese technology.

That means a South Korean smartphone maker must ask for Beijing's permission to sell the devices to Australia if the phones contain China-originated rare earth materials, said Jamieson Greer, the U.S. trade representative. “This rule gives China control over basically the entire global economy in the technology supply chain,” he said.

I proclaim that the "No Kings" rallies were a complete and total success.

The US has no king today.

Your sarcasm is duly noted.

Seven million plus Americans showed up to voice their displeasure with the oaf and his minions.

Of course he'll ignore it; hell, the fat fool relishes detractors...it lets his sadism run wild.

Jail to the Chief!
