And remember, they slammed through Obamacare on a purely partisan vote. With the majority of those voting ‘yea’ admitting they didn’t even read the bill. I don’t recall the government shutting down that day. Republicans have used the same tactic in the past. They were wrong then. The Dems are wrong now.

So, are you all saying Republicans will never abuse the shutdown from this day forward? Otherwise, it’s all holier than thou meaningless accusations.

Can any of the lefty Kamala voters here offer any idea why she is not calling to end the filibuster to get the government open? She called on going do yo make abortion great again why not for this?

Because she is not in office or running for office? So I am not sure why a random retired VP has any obligation to do so?

And, if they do, I'm not sure why their opinion would matter. When she was VP, she had direct influence over Senate policies (a lot of people don't know this but VPs are actually the President of the Senate.)

She supports abortion, I am not sure what that has to do with Senate filibuster rules?

The GOP used the reconciliation to get OBBB passed. Now they don't have it to get a budget passed. Dems didn't have any power to stop the OBBB. Now they have the power to stop the budget bill, unless they get some of what they want.

How can they be "powerless" when they have the power to stop the budget bill in its tracks? The Dems are willing to negotiate on the bill. MAGA isn't. This shutdown is all on Donny, Thune and Johnson.
