Jimmy Kimmel getting fired is problematic because it was the FCC pressuring for the firing, so this is a 1st Amendment issue. He didn't do anything that violates a FCC restriction. He made a joke that was within the bounds of approved words on the network. It is very dangerous when Presidents use FCC to remove political opponents from shows.

Personally I don't like Kimmel or his show, and never watch it (not that I watch TV at all,) but I have no issue with what he said from the transcript I have seen (have not seen a video of it.)

Radio stations have FCC licenses. Listen to Mark Levin for a couple evenings, and you will wonder why the FCC doesn’t care about things he says. Kimmel didn’t make threats, and his speech is not nearly as divisive as Levin’s.

Exactly. People don't realize how out of bounds and problematic for the FCC to get involved in such things. This isn't something the FCC does.

Even if Kimmel said, "I hate Charlie Kirk and I am ecstatic that he is dead, the world is a better place," there would be zero FCC violations in that statement (now Kimmel didn't say that, he literally said nothing controversial or of interest -as usual-) which is why this is so problematic, Trump is expirementing using the FCC to limit speech, which even Tucker Carlson is pointing out now (strange times indeed.)

Kimmel is basically the rest case for using the FCC to remove hosts and speakers that annoy Trump.

Most of us knew for years the Mockingbird was fake news, but recently it became obvious for most "normies" to see it:

It's about 1/2 hour long.

It looks like a synthetic Musk narrating but the script is very good.

The video explains what happened.

This script tells the story of how Charlie Kirk’s assassination became the breaking point for legacy media, exposing its bias, arrogance, and moral bankruptcy in a way that millions of Americans could no longer ignore. It details how mainstream journalists, instead of showing restraint or compassion, rushed to spin narratives and even blame Charlie for his own death. Their callousness backfired, triggering unprecedented backlash, firings, public apologies, and a collapse of trust that institutions built over decades could not withstand. The script highlights how this tragedy not only revealed the media’s agenda-driven behavior but also sparked a mass awakening among ordinary Americans who now see these outlets as political actors rather than truth-seekers.

At the same time, Charlie’s death ignited an explosive growth of his movement, turning him into a martyr whose influence only expanded in ways the media never anticipated. His message of critical thinking and questioning authority spread globally, with young people and international voices rallying to carry it forward. The script argues that this cultural shift is permanent: the media’s credibility has been shattered, their role as gatekeepers destroyed, and their moral authority stripped away. What remains is a generational realignment in how Americans view truth, power, and freedom—one that ensures Charlie Kirk’s message will outlast the very institutions that tried to silence him.

Your head is in the sand. Even the liberal heads of ABC realized how ‘controversial’ calling the murderer of Charlie Kirk ‘one of their (MAGA) own’. When you and every rational observer know the kid sleeping with a trans man/woman was not ‘MAGA’. ABC and a few of their affiliates cut bait, and quickly. A private company decided to fire an idiot. That’s what really happened. If the company and idiot wanted to keep on keeping on, they could have fought the FCC in court. That’s even IF the FCC actually did anything!

The left hitches its trains to the wrong people! Kimmel. Kilmer Abreu. Omar. Brown. Mamdani.

Segue.. watching TV. Dolphins have a player named Storm Duck.

Now, Trump is urging NBC to ax “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon and “Late Night” host Seth Meyers from the network. He has repeatedly taken aim at both Fallon and Meyers, critiquing their shows for low ratings.

“That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!!” Trump added on Truth Social.

Donald Trump posted on his Truth Social account that ABC and NBC gave him "97% BAD STORIES" and suggested their licenses should be revoked.

Why do you think the founders made it the FIRST amendment?

I consider it no different than if the majority of the Congress or the Supreme Court said the same thing. He’s is the Executive branch.

Hey rxwine and Gandler, could you help me out?

I haven't been unable to find any of your postings concerning the 1st Amendment when the bidumb administration (white house, DOJ, FBI, etc} forced/pressured Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms, to censor and remove postings by American citizens.

Hmmmm, could it be that if it wasn't a double standard both of you wouldn't have any standard at all?
