I have no interest in betting as I am just speculating. I wouldn't even know how to define if the leadership is toppled. I just think between the assassinations that are happening and the general instability in the country a major leadership change will take place. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |

If the U.S. gets involved in Iran, it would be insane after Trump spending years talking about being involved in wars in the middle east that don't involve us. Of all the wars that don't involve us, this doesn't involve us the most. If Israel wants to get stupid with Iran, let them (and I am somebody who loves Israel and despises Iran.) The counterpoint is that an invasion of Iran (which would almost certainly lead to a drawn out occupation) would be amazing for Democrats and provide a buff the next two election cycles. Iran will be a very bloody invasion and very much be a conventional war involving hundreds of thousands on both sides, and incalculable death (and who even knows how much money,) and I do not see this being very appealing to Americans. |

Luckily no Republican has suggested attacking Iran since liberal darling John McCain suggested it. Trump is very smart and knows that the only USA military success against Iran since the 70s has been Sgt Slaughter. IOW don’t look for it to happen no matter how much left wingers want it to. Nothing wrong with that: better to spend money than American lives to achieve our goals. |
