Some religions require or encourage believers to make a pilgrimage as an expression of faith. People may also journey to a shrine because they want a favor, such as a cure for an illness, from a saint or divine being. Others give thanks or ask to be forgiven for a wrong they have done.

Quite a bit of historical Christian history in Turkey.

Quote:
Salt in a wound hurts due to a combination of factors:

Enhanced Nerve Sensitivity: Salt contains sodium ions that trigger our pain receptors when they come into contact with an exposed nerve ending12.

Osmotic Effect: Salt has a property called osmosis, which means it draws water out of cells. When salt is applied to a wound, it dehydrates cells and intensifies the pain sensation12.

Inflammation Aggravation: Adding salt to a wound can exacerbate inflammation because it disrupts the balance of fluids and increases swelling and redness. The combination of these factors leads to heightened pain sensations when salt enters a wound12.

The cream of the crop.

I'm actually surprised Onlyfans takes that small amount. I think Youtube takes a bigger cut of creators there.

For some reason I am being reminded often about one socialist theory that some feel is debunked, but that others still cling to. Not the Socialist theory that redistribution of income is good for a country, that is still a hard sell and only a few still buy it [perhaps then only for the fairness issue]. There is also a theory out there that I at one time had thought little about, and that is that socialism, applied to things like manufacturing, has economic efficiency. It was feared at first, for example, that the USSR would exceed the US economically eventually due to such efficiency, and if you look for it, you can see it in elements of FDR's New Deal. The most famous instance of it went to the Supreme Court, where the law that attempted to make chickens a uniform product, exactly the same everywhere, was struck down. Turns out if you wanted a Kosher chicken, you could have one after all. As far as I can tell, this crushed this application of the New Deal program NIRA so quickly other such ideas hardly had time to be applied. Perhaps other instances never made it to court.

The idea is that if you are producing beer, for example, there is an economic advantage to producing only one type, in one can, all looking the same, and provide only that for every person in the country, then obviously costs are reduced. The alternate idea is to produce what people want, providing the necessary variety, and letting price and demand shape the market. That this is better economically is a fact, but seems to require proof being in the pudding, rather than in the theory. Although one element, not accepted by all, may be that an economy grows when there are more choices, even when some of the choices are higher priced items no one really needs. This goes against socialist ideas for sure, but may be essential to a healthy economy.

>>>

Is socialism economically efficient?

Socialist economies can also be more efficient in the sense that there's less of a need to sell goods to consumers who might not need them, resulting in less money spent on product promotion and marketing efforts.

__

Does capitalism have economic efficiency?

Capitalism, undoubtedly, is a major driver of innovation, wealth, and prosperity in the modern era. Competition and capital accumulation incentivize businesses to maximize efficiency, which allows investors to capitalize on that growth and consumers to enjoy lower prices on a wider range of goods

Older boomers born between 1946 and 1953, are now about 70 to 77 years old. The Generation Jones folks arrived between 1954 and 1964 (some say 1965), and are around 59 to 69 years old.
__

Why do they call them Generation Jones?

They believe they share few traits and cultural touchstones with a noisy cohort that overshadowed them. The name Jones — conjured up by cultural critic Jonathan Pontell in 1999 — refers to the idea of “keeping up with the Joneses,” as well as the drug-use slang of “jonesing,” or craving more
