(notifying Drich I'm mentioning gas station hotdogs)

Dude, I still come across condiments packs (mustard, relish) obviously made out of Kevlar.

If you watch old movies, you see the usage of pasting "the end" [or "fin" if really old] at the end was a continued practice for a long time. I used to think it was silly, but now I wonder if possibly, since the film clearly undergoes degradation, audiences found some copies going around would be so beat up the end was missing, and complained, and theaters wanted it to be clear the whole film was shown. Maybe, maybe not, it's hard to be sure. I can't get much to come up with googling.

When did movies switch to credits at the end?

The use of closing credits in film to list complete production crew and the cast was not firmly established in American film until the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Always, job positions in movie credits I have to look up, and then promptly forget the meaning because there is no clue in the actual name. For instance.

The idiom curry favor is an alteration by folk etymology of curry favell, Middle English core favele, currey favel "to use insincere flattery to gain personal advantage," literally, "to curry the fallow-colored horse," a translation of Middle French estriller/torchier Fauvel "to use trickery, deceive,"

Wollemi Pine seedlings and saplings grow less than one centimeter a year," research scientist Berin Mackenzie said. "They won't mature until they can reach the rainforest canopy and access the sunlight above. That's usually about 20 or 30 meters, so you do the math. That's many decades."
