I'm all for protests. I'm not sure what a threatening protest is. Does that mean you are threatening to protest legally and you go ahead and do it :-) If protestors are peaceful, they are within their constitutional rights regardless of right wing or left wing. If protestors break the law, arrest them regardless of left or right. If Trump or any left wing or right wing politician calls for violent protests, that is wrong and should be condemned. Sure, and they were arrested as they should be. Just like as you will hopefully concede, Trump should be. But, the element of scale is important. A random group of hecklers who nobody really cares about will be arrested with minimal influence. A person with millions of followers who will all target an individual calling for violence on an individual for not even doing anything offensive (literally routine legal duties) is absurd. Trump already demonstrated that he has the ability for mass mobilization, that makes threats far more impactful, because even if 100 people are arrested, there will be thousands more willing to attempt the same thing. It is the web of influence problem, it is why a single Taliban Imam with massive reach can be more dangerous than thousands of militants, because he is the one who controls those militants. I am not saying Trump is a terrorist (though he is becoming increasingly close day by day seemingly), but it's the principle. |

ROTFL "experts say" Are you serious Screw the experts, cut to the chase. How was a law broken? Who broke the law. Is it on video??????? These days if ain't on video, it's an extremely weak case and nobody will belive it. Where's the beef and experts don't mean jack EVIDENCE is needed like a video Like Jan 6 evidence Call the police It's there jurisdiction This is a local matter. I am continually amazed at how little you actually understand about what is happening and even what the law is TP. It's a false equivalency. I don't support protesting on sidewalks outside of private homes (though you have on other circumstances, so it is selective outrage). But, I think it is wrong all around. However, as long as protests stay on a public right of way, and don't impede traffic or cause a noise disturbance, it is generally regarded as legal (I find it to be in poor taste, a bad tactic, and think any group who does it swings low). However, protesters who have made threats to the Supreme Court have been arrested (as they should). You are really hiding the ball. Whether or not Trump threatened somebody is the issue. You can point out endless circumstances of other threats and see if people got arrested or did not. But, protests are not threats. And, if protesters do use threats I would be the first to say that they should be arrested. Not addressing something, and just pointing out perceived wrongdoing by other parties does not change the base issue. You are essentially proving my point (assuming your claims about mass amount of people using threats and not being arrested are true), if somebody is not arrested who should be that is a failure of justice. And, right now Trump can be counted in that group of somebody who should be arrested who has not been. And, Trump is infinitely more dangerous than some wackjob on the sidewalk, because he controls thousands of wackjobs on the sidewalk. |
