There is no doubt the majority of Dems support the police. I support the police. Is there anybody here on this board demanding that the police be defunded.

I did say it is a perfect example of a woke policy to announce you need a certain race and gender for a position like Supreme Court Justice. And I think the majority of Americans agree with me, and DeSantis on issues like this.

Woke = using race and/or gender to disqualify someone from next Supreme Court Justice appointee

Non woke = selecting most qualified candidate regardless of race or gender.

I agree with SOOPOO on this one, but in a little bit of a different way.

Instead of making a huge production, in advance, about the fact that the nominee is going to be a black woman, just nominate a black woman and be done with it. Leave it for the Republicans to try to tear her down with, almost certainly, some of them making themselves look bad in the process.

No, of course not. To use it as a virtue signal is pretty woke. I also think it diminishes from the nominee's accomplishment when you've already stated, in advance, that you're nominating a black woman. Basically, it gives the other side a not-totally-unreasonable argument to say, "Well, I guess she was the best black woman for the job."

It's better to just nominate her if you're going to do that. Let the other side make the argument that she was only nominated due to being a black woman, then the other side can portray themselves as a bunch of racists. In the meantime, you don't have this cloud hanging over her head where someone might say, "Maybe she wasn't the BEST selection, she was just the best selection out of black women."

That's the difference. One is bad politics and the other is good politics. Biden did it the way that's bad politics.

No disagreement with you on the last part, except I don't think you actually need a Senate majority. You just need a few adults in the room. Jackson's vote is an example even though she would have succeeded without the Republicans.
