The signal the US has been sending for generations is that the US supports Taiwan independence and freedom This ain't some rinky dink country It's our 9th largest trading partner on the planet They are an economic powerhouse in their own right We've totally armed the island to the teeth with the best our defense contractors can produce That's what's meaningful, amount of trade and what they buy from our defense industry Overall the Pelosi visit is just meaningless politics China was dumb to speak up. This just underscores Taiwan's independence and how little influence China has on US politics Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

You see that press conference last week when she's drunk on her ass and rambles on for two or three minutes and nobody knows what she said? I used to own a bar and I know what drunk looks like and she was drunk. 81 years old and drunk, these are the leaders we have. Neither Captain poopy pants nor the military wanted her drunken ass going to Taiwan and she is just opened a huge can of worms. Because China now feels they can match us militarily and they did not in the past. Luckily China's economy is in freefall and that will probably stop them from doing anything. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

On the flipside side Stocks fall as Republicans make it clear they don't support our 9th largest trading partner on the planet. Republicans used to be pro business and pro freedom What happened? Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

I hope not, a war with a major country would intrigue me. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent. |

Taiwan's passport is ranked as the 34th most powerful in the world. Taiwan citizens can enter about 140 countries without a visa China on the other hand ranked about 69th most powerful in the world Only about 80 countries allow entry without a visa Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |
