this is one of the problems, caring more about that than anything else. How do you feel at the grocery store, say, when you look at those prices? "Whew, glad to pay that! at least the President is a Dem!"

If it means our international allies and partners aren't laughing at us, if it means the rights of the women in our lives are protected, if it means our environment is protected, if it means my country is headed by sanity and rationality, if it means our access to affordable healthcare is maintained, if it means no chance of more Supreme Court justices will be appointed who want to fly the American flag upside down and further restrict our civil rights, if it means a President who isn't grasping, with no morals whatsoever and in the office solely for personal gain, you're damned right I say "At least the President isn't a Dem!"

Find me Republicans who has a documented history of checking off those boxes and maybe I'd vote for them.

Only a MAGA would call "rational" 'demented".

Why is Trump using the playbook more than anyone else running for President?

You mean Biden's Muslim Ban? Or was it Clinton's, or Barrack Hussain Obama's. Yes that was it. Obama

There never was a 'Muslim Ban'.

Trump imposed a ban on travel from seven Muslim dominated countries as well as North Korea and Venezuela, due to lack of cooperation with the US, inability to report terrorist-related information and failure to document their travelers to the US.

The nearly one billion Muslims living outside those nations, were not banned from travel to the US, because those nations were cooperating with US efforts to prevent another 9-11.

Iraq was taken off the list when it agreed to US demands for cooperation.

On December 7, 2015, as a candidate for President, Donald Trump, called for "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what the hell is going on."

Anyone who cannot see that statement of intent as deeply racist is... deeply racist.

His intent was quite clearly stated by himself even before he was elected. I'm not denying WHY he claimed to want to ban Muslims from entry, (security) but that was absolutely his stated intention: To ban Muslims. not persons from majority muslim countries, but actual Muslim individuals.

The travel ban that he imposed by executive order, which was subsequently litigated to the SCOTUS, was officially called a 'travel ban'. But even his own aides referred to it as a 'Muslim ban'.

it's a matter of letting people into our country from countries where they hate us.

of course Trump is his own worst enemy, saying things in a way that gives ammo to his detractors. The fact is, it was a wise thing to do

The old 'racist' card. Yawn.

Trump said that in 2015 following 38 domestic terrorist incidents, 54 dead and a record number of people arrested for terrorism in the US that year. Twice as many deaths and arrests as the year before.

How about common sense?

6% or 100,000 British Muslims 'fully supported' the July 7, 2005 terrorist bombings which killed 52 and injured 800. One in four expressed 'some sympathy' for the bombers.

16% of Muslims in Spain where the Madrid train bombings killed 192 and injured 1,800, believed suicide bombings could be justified 'often or sometimes'.

By the time Trump took office in 2017, he did figure out what was going on and limited the ban to seven nations, plus NK and Venezuela, because they refused to cooperate with US efforts to prevent terrorist attacks on US soil.
