Calling you out, SooPoo: Can you point to a source where she said the "rich are bad", or is it just your inaccurate extrapolation of her public statements? |

If Kamala is incapable of avoiding word salad, what does that make Donny? Seriously, watch this from earlier today. What the hell is he saying?! https://x.com/acyn/status/1844444488187478017?s=46 This is why so many righties will only talk about Kamala and pretend Donny doesn’t exist anymore (this last part isn’t directed at RonC or SOOPOO, they are the rare ones who can admit his mind is going). “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

I gave you the specific quote from her TV ad. She demonizes the “1%’. ‘They do nothing for anyone but themselves’. Ignoring the FACT that that small sliver of the population pays 1/4 of the taxes. She attacks BIG PHARMA as if all the innovation and invention and live extending they do is bad. She wants to cripple them. |

She does not demonize big pharma for saving lives and innovating, she demonizes big pharma for using the U.S. as a cash cow. No other country pays the money for drugs that the U.S. do, we basically subsidize their profits for all countries that they operate in. Basically every other civilized country has price controls on drugs, and since we do not, we pay more and more as other countries pay less.... |

| odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 165 Posts: 6377 | It's as if there was an agreement that US consumers should subsidize pharma [in a sense] so that drugs would be cheaper for the rest of the world. Also, was there an argument that the public never heard, that such US participation is essential for drug development costs? The problem is, not every US consumer is someone that can be doing that, come on! If this ends it will be interesting to see how much drugs go up in cost in other countries ... or if new drugs quit coming on line because no country is there to support the cost I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

I was involved in medical research for a product that was being developed to sell to hospitals/ surgicenters. I can guess that around $3 million was spent on the project I was the clinical doctor for. My final recommendation was to NOT go forward with production/marketing, as I didn’t think it improved on existing technology. And would have been more expensive to produce. That’s $3 million that generated zero. (Number is an educated guess). My understanding is the research for drugs is far more expensive, with far more failures than successes. When they finally hit a home run it should be a home run, not a single. When Nike sells a sneaker that costs $10 to manufacture for $350, no one blinks an eye. When the Sabres sell a $1 beer for $12 it is just ok. I WANT BIG PHARMA to always have that profit motive. Or else the Mounjaro I’m on never would have been invented. |

One that we could just go issue to issue with the Dems. I think Haley/DeSantis/fill in the blank could have focused on all the Democrat failings without having all the baggage Trump brings. You all know I don’t like Harris, but you can analyze her positions and make a decision. You can’t do that with Trump I have bets on Harris. I’m feeling good about them. |

Republicans decided not to hang together when Trump came out of the gate the first time. So, they all got hung separately. That’s why they can’t successfully oppose him. I realize all candidates are mildly flawed, and some worse than others. Trump doesn’t even fit in that usual category. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |

| SOOPOO Member since: Feb 19, 2014 Threads: 25 Posts: 5746 | NBC released its latest national poll results. I don’t think anyone would call NBC News a right biased organization. They have Trump and Harris tied at 48-48. When they allow for 3rd party candidates they actually have Trump up a point. For Trump to even be close to Harris in a national poll is a terribly poor news for the Dems. I forgot which source, but read Trump is ahead of Harris in MICHIGAN even after his stump speech making fun of Detroit! My local tax bill just came due. Big increase from last year. NYS totally Democrat controlled. (My area is slowly seeping to Democrat run). Just had my fall sprinkler service. Up 30% from last year. Snow plow contract came. Up 20% from last year. The Dems can shout from the roof how ‘inflation is slowing’ but the damage has already been done. America is aware of the disaster of Democrat policy fueled inflation. If it wasn’t for the millions who will vote solely for a Democrat because of abortion, this would be a route like we’ve never seen. And that’s with the Republicans having a lying, felonious, aged, generally despicable candidate! |
