Righties spent all four years of Donny’s term pretending he was more popular than he was and he would easily win re-election. He didn’t, and it led to an attempted coup.

I’m skeptical they know anything about where the race actually stands.

"Attempted coup"...no, a protest that turned into a riot and many people got punished for it.

A "Coup d'état" is an illegal and overt attempt by a military organization or other government elites to unseat an incumbent leadership.

Who organized the supposed Coup? What kind of structure did the organization have? Even if the worst had happened, there is zero possibility that it worked in even a very short term. Yes, it would have been horrible, but President Biden would still would have become President on Inauguration Day and the government would still have functioned normally.

It wasn't an insurrection. It wasn't a coup. it very much was one of the stupidest things to ever have happened and it was very possibly preventable if people had listened to the intelligence.

When you get the proof of how it ever had the slightest chance of being a true takeover of the government, let us all know. If there was proof, the government would have presented it right away and filed appropriate charges. There would be little need for a 1/6 Committee or a prosecution still not completed over three years later. Perhaps the firing squads would have already done their duty.

Stupidly denying you lost and acting like a fool in many ways is not an insurrection. There is PLENTY there to say negative about Trump.

The 1/6 Committee was a TV production, not an actual Congressional hearing. They likely knew that no insurrection charges would be filed and that the only way to keep 1/6 in the news was to hold highly partisan and opposition-led hearings in prime time.

...anyway, I don't put much stock in the polls at this point. It is President Biden's race to win or lose.

And he is a government elite. And he was trying to overturn the election. That was the goal. Not to just riot. No, it wasn't everyone there.

He's the match that lit the flame of unrest that led to the whole event. Maybe he held the magnifying glass over the match that lit that flame. But it's more of a disconnect to say otherwise.

I might note another thing Trump is still doing. He doesn't tell us exactly what it takes as proof for the election to be not rigged. In other words, the election is always rigged if he hasn't won.

I'd also note that Trump had over 3 hours to do something of more consequence to prove he wasn't complicit while that went on. Meanwhile, we had security aiming guns at people in the capitol and congress hiding.

Jan 6 was an attempted insurrection. The stated goals of many of the participants was to prevent the counting of the electoral votes by the joint session of Congress, prevent Job Biden from taking office and keep Trump as President. Even if it had no chance of success, the attempt was made and I am not aware of "nonzero chance of success" being necessary for a conviction of criminal charges. The convictions for seditious conspiracy are exhibit A.
