Fun fact: In Montana the male does not need to be present to get married and to this day can still have a proxy stand in for you.

Is this how you got your fourth and fifth wives to marry you, you sent a good-looking stand in?
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Yes, how did you guess?

About 1/3 to 1/2 of all pregnancies end in miscarriage. A miscarriage is most likely to occur within the first 3 three months of pregnancy, before 20 weeks’ gestation. Only 1% of miscarriages occur after 20 weeks’ gestation. These are termed late miscarriages.

They are going for murder charges in Lousanna in their abortion law.

Suppose you had a auto accident there. Not a bad one, but one that shakes everyone up.

A woman in the other car has a miscarriage in the next 3 days. She could have a miscarriage anyway for any reason. But they allege a case against you.

I wouldn't want to face the charges equivalent of a full human being from human being from birth charges. Maybe that's fine with others. But if there isn't some differentiation of the definition of human being from birth, that's what you should get for even a clump of developing cells.

I don't think that would be murder, even if a human died three days later (if it was truly an accident and you were not attacking them with your car). It would probably be some form of manslaughter (not sure how LA breaks it down).

But, yes I agree that it is an insane law. And, LA is not the only one, many other States have similar laws that are on the books, but are not enforceable currently...
So its not a philosophical issue, these laws exist (in a variety of severity) and can (and in some States likely will) start being enforced the day after the case is overturned.

We should open up the Supreme Court process
Let the people know how and why decisions are made
Release the drafts and revisions
These cases are too important to be shrouded in mystery on how and why justices came to a decision
Let the people in on the fluctuating vote
I say all this because back in the day I read the Brethren : Inside the Supreme Court.
It's a really great read
It was an incredibly enlightening book on how decisions are made behind closed doors

The USSC shrouds itself in secrecy and an aura of mystery in order to project the fiction that it is "above" being influenced by politics.

Bwa ha ha ha!

Gotta wonder to what degree the justice's personal religious beliefs affect their position on the abortion issue, given that one of the fundamental linchpins of our republic is the separation of church and state.

Probably far less than the liberal justices letting their personal beliefs affect their rulings.

Because religious beliefs are so weak no conservative judge takes them seriously, or what? What do you mean?

Personal beliefs are fine, but ruling cannot be based to favor a religious principle.

The issue with the Supreme Court is it is overwhelmingly Catholic (6/9), so there is a massive bias in favor of Catholic ideals (which includes being anti-abortion). (When only 20% of America is Catholic). A similar number (about 20%) of Americans are not religious, and have no representation. (Two of the justices are other forms of Christians, and one is Jewish).

Wow, six coddlers of pedophiles on the USSC bench?

That explains a lot.
