We've heard the term "hell freezes over," but what about "heaven?"

Here's a pic of a shrine in The Grotto in Portland, showing the effects of a recent ice storm.

In contrast from the sublime (above) here's a pretty accurate pic of stumptown today:

A local has developed a game called "Queer Quest" and this image is from it.

Ah, kids these days...

I assume this will make MRv happy.

‘It’s Getting out of Hand’: Portland Neighbors Reach Boiling Point over Homeless Camp"

Turns out the people of Portland are finally starting to notice they have homeless people there and they're even trying to run them over with their cars. Too late for that dumbasses, they own Portland now and they know it.

Homelessness isn't always due to drugs and mental illlness,

Half of them have jobs, but they can't afford the rents.

Especially hard on singles.

'A record number of Americans can’t afford their rent.'

'Single mom Caitlyn Colbert watched as rent for her two-bedroom apartment doubled, then tripled and then quadrupled over a decade in Denver — from $750 to $3,374 last year.'

Maybe they should move to where rents are more affordable.

Oh, wait a minute...that would mean moving to where there aren't a lot of jobs other than agricultural, typically: never mind.

Good luck with that.

The current trend across the country is to build luxury rentals. Few new condos, because the corporations want to own it all.

Rents range from $1,750 for a studio, to $5,000 for a two-bedroom. Higher here. Which ensures fewer young people will be able to save for their retirement or to purchase their own home.

That doesn't apply for the elites of course.

So what's the GOP plan to reduce homelessness and increase the availability or housing affordable to the median income earners?

Uh, what is the DEMOCRAT plan? Democrats run most of the cities where the problems are. Let them figure it out.
