You are reaching.

If we targeted Reuters journalists because of their reporting that would be a valid comparison. If they were killed as unfortunate collateral damage due to willingly going into hostile territory, there is not much that can be done.

That video was also leaked by Assange who more or less works for Putin now....
I think you mean Snowden? Regardless, the world deserves facts on wtf is going on in the world.

Assange is a victim, and the criminal organizations under cover of the news should be the ones on trial.

Bradley Manning was pardoned by POTUS, he should be free to walk the earth.

In USA, no, there is no censorship of any activity that is not activivley a crime (unless you count shutting down human trafficking sites and underage porn sites as censorship). We can say anything online without fear of reprisal (again say, not do, if you use the internet for an illegal purpose such as to solicit sex from a minor, that is illegal).

In your country, there is some censorship on the internet, not nearly to the extent of Qatar, but Canada and Europe have slightly less free speech than America (there are more "hate speech" restrictions etc...) Again, even Canada is a false equivalent, because the restrictions are virtually nothing compared to Qatar.

But, yes, I agree with shutting down sites that host illegal porn and are used for trafficking humans. Does that count as censorship? I guess if you want to get really semantic.....

And what do you call the deletion of Trump's post on Twitter? They aren't illegal, they may or may not be factual depending on your view.

What they are doing in Qatar is wrong based on the principles of equality (that men and women should have the same level of privacy and protections) even if you don't agree with Western Values.
These western values?

I don't know anything about it. And, I am not on Twitter.
Apparantly somebody got shot in Philly? based on the link?

I should rephrase since shootings happen in Philly all of the time, apparantly somebody got shot by a cop in Philly?

Just watched the video thug charged police with a knife. 100% justified use of force.

I am betting the Medical Examiner will find drugs in his system.

Nothing wrong at all, if you charge cops with a knife (or anyone) they have a right shoot you. So yes, Western Values of self-defense.

Like most BLM fads, as I am sure this will become, the police were 100% justified.

I don't agree with it.

But, if you don't see the difference between a private company restricting use on its platform, and a country banning websites and categories, you need to research the differences more.

You (Americans anyway) have a right for free speech without restrictions from the government. A private company can restrict your buisness if they don't like your speech (free association).

I have had Facebook posts censored before (for posting statistics from PEW) when I was active on social media. I did not agree, so they no longer get my buisness, and I no longer use their platform (or any social media). They have a right to restrict postings (even of facts), and we have a right to not use their service.

You really dont understand BLM. Sad
I am BLM
Yet
I believe Blacks commit crimes and there are circumstances where the police have to use force, sometime deadly force
I am all for that and am still BLM

I don't agree that BLM is a positive organization, but we are already way off topic.

In this video that you referenced as a negative example of Western Values, do you think the shooting was justified?
The dude charged the cops with a knife. What would you have done differently? Do you think if the dude was white the cops would have reacted differently?

No, I meant Assange, the video you referenced was published on WikiLeaks. Had nothing to do with Snowden as far as I know (who is also a criminal and is being harbored by Russia).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/July_12,_2007,_Baghdad_airstrike#Leaked_video_footage

Chelsea Manning was pardoned by President Obama and deserves all of the protections of her pardon. I don't agree with the actions that she (at the time he) took, but PFC Manning was young and did what he (at the time) thought was right. She at least had the courage to go through the trial and accept the punishment.

Assange is hiding in an embassy and being a puppet of Putin. I have zero respect for Assange. He also backed down on his offer to turn himself in if President Obama pardoned Chelsea Manning (which he did), so total snake. He should stay in jail (which he probably will for the rest of his life due to his ill health, even if the extradition never gores through which COVID sadly delayed). He hid like a coward in an embassy in the U.K. for years before they got sick of him and finally allowed local police to come in and arrest him. If he lives long enough he will eventually face trial in the U.S. and will receive a fair hearing.
