Exactly you can't mandate IDs be required for basic rights, but not make IDs free and uniform.....

I am not talking about making DLs free (because that is a specific license that grants you additional privileges and requires testing and vetting to obtain), but a basic federal ID, I don’t think this should be controversial.

I'm going to disagree on the grounds that I think ID's are affordable enough. Individual states offer non-operator ID for those who don't drive. Here are a few:

West Virginia: $5.50 (or $15.50 for REAL ID)

Ohio: $8.50

Pennsylvania: $31.50

Pennsylvania charges out the @$$ for everything. This has to be one of the worst states when it comes to one-off type charges and taxes. The tolls on I-76 are punitive and ridiculous.

Anyway, if this is something that people are so concerned about, then let them put together some sort of NPO (or something) that specializes in purchasing IDs for those who cannot afford them. I'm obviously opposed to an actual, "Poll Tax," but if you can't come up with $5.50-$31.50 in basically a year's time, then voting simply must not be all that important to you.

Because they will always vote Democrat. Their intellect is high enough for them to be told ‘Trump bad’. Vote for other guy. We will give you a sandwich after. If there was an intellect test required to vote, like eliminate those below IQ 95, there would never be another Democrat President. If only those smart enough to have a job could vote, same result.

There wouldn't be another Republican President, either.

I'd be happy to analyze the data alongside you if you want.

Overall though, blue states subsidize red states. It's not even close.

Republicans love nothing more than voting against their own economic interests. That's why big business has always conceded to the churchies on moral issues.

If I could not come up with $32 the last thing I would care about would be voting. I would be focused on daily survival. If I were homeless voting would be the last thing I would care about.

I figure since they didn’t argue that if poll taxes were affordable they would be okay, there is a higher intent to keeping a free vote for all citizens regardless of their station in life.

Poll Taxes were made unconstitutional due to Democrats using them to keep blacks from voting.

In an interview this morning, Senile
Joe said:

“You’re telling me? I’ve got four kids, five grandchildren — c’mon man, I’m an expert.”

Sleepy Demented Joe has 7
grandkids. Hey, he was close.

Same with literacy tests.

Which, if I recall, one conservative on here (to be fair I have heard liberals say similar things in the past) sort of want back (I can't recall if the term used was IQ test or minimum knowledge test to vote or something along those lines).
