Nor will you have to repay if your 2020 income climbs into the ineligible range.

Looks like SooPoo might get a payment in 2021, though.

That is total nonsense. WMT pays a wage that is competitive for the retail sector. Retail has always had low pay. Quit acting like other retailers were paying high wages until WMT figured out they could pay less. It makes zero sense.
I was referring to all the mom and pop grocery stores across America that for a generation or two were often the anchor for small towns. Often, those stores paid superior wages to the Walmart employees that replaced them before all the small shops across the country were put out of business.

I think WM has driven wages down for the entire industry, and most people think that, that's good. But to use a cliche "what goes around comes around". I know that they killed "swinging beef".

If we had a free market, and we had capitalism, these bailouts wouldn't happen. Not 08 and not now. The price discovery mechanism has been destroyed . I wonder how many billions WM will get in this "stimulus"?

I highly doubt mom and pop markets paid "superior wages." If they did, how would WMT hire people? This is a big myth. WMT pays wages competitive for their industry and skill level.

People that hate WMT just hate people that are more successful than they are. Sure, WMT put local chains out of their misery. Those local chains usually had awful stores and bad service.

If WMT is so bad to compete against, how come every WMT that is part of a strip center the strip center is full? Why do so many other businesses pop up near a WMT?

WMT should be applauded for building a competitive business, not scorned.

Trump doesn't pay taxes,

I can GUARANTEE, to almost 100% certainty, that Trump pays more taxes in a year than you will pay your entire life. Hopefully, you can win a huge lottery and prove me wrong....

He may not pay as much as you want....... didn't he leak some single page from one of his returns showing a payment of $30,000,000 or so?

I hope not. I hope they are done. My 2020 income will be under the $75k threshold, unless they count things like dividends, bond interest. I wonder if my pension even counts as income using their formulas?

That is a helpful link there Dalex, thanks. It had info on deadbeat dads that I was wondering about.

If married filing jointly the taper down will start at a combined income of 150,000.
No idea about the rest.

It is far better than K-Mart. And Ames, Gold Circle, Hills, Zayre, just to name some northeast chains.

WMT started from one store. They clearly did things better than others who had the same chance. K-Mart and Target started the same year. WMT buried K-Mart and is many times the size of Target.

Just the SS taxes he has to pay
on his 10's of thousands of
employee's is staggering.
