Despite a 65% vaccination rate, the Netherlands reimposed Covid restrictions a few days ago. Due to the Delta variant, new cases have jumped to over 10,000 per day there. Covid acting alone, is deadlier than the Spanish flu, acting alone. Most of those victims died from bacterial pneumonia, which is treatable today, and possibly preventable for those who have been vaccinated.

Jeez. The Uk Gov is comfortable with infection rates of 50k - 100 k per day. and they are just about to open up on all restrictions.

Assuming the vaccine is readily available to all who would want it, then, GOOD!

Unvaccinated people tend to be riskier people, they don't mask guidance or follow social distancing, etc.... So they are at a massive risk by not vaccinating, and a further risk by being stupid in general by not following basic saftey guidance....

Vaccinated people are more likley to follow saftey guidelines such as masking indoors when requested and washing your hands even though they are vaccinated. So it's a compound effect, people against vaccines generally are against other saftey guidance hence increasing the risk.

Also. even if you get COVID while vaccinated your chances of dying are slim, and even being hospitalized are slim, this is an aspect people don't talk about (people just put it in terms of getting infected or not, when overall efficacy encompasses much more, such as decreased negative effects if infected, decreased chance of hospitalization, decreased risk of death, etc...), if you are vaccinated and get COVID, you will hardly notice it, and likley not even know....
