dealt with a lot of Gays and
they were terrified of it. They
didn't know yet all the ways
it could be spread; transfusions,
dirty needles, etc. And non
Gays were freaking out that
media was saying it could
spread like wildfire among the
whole population.

It's hilarious that because you
weren't paying attention, or like
Gandler weren't born yet, it never
happened.

There is some indication that the countries that had severe death tolls in March-April like Italy and Spain managed to arrest the overall spread. Other countries that had severe deaths in April-May when people are more anxious to go outside may eventually end up with the highest death tolls. Sweden is a control as they had no mandatory quarantine and they may end up with one of the worst death tolls when the year is done.

I remember in the early news stages when the press was saying only gay men could catch the disease. I couldn't believe they would even claim that a disease would know if people were gay or not. Press has only gotten worse at splaining the truth.

When pressed he has no working knowledge of anything that happened in the 80s or after. I honestly thought he was 40 years younger and that was not a compliment. You say something most any person should have remembered and somehow he does not know. Like talking to someone who did not even live in USA society. I don't get it.

Today, one in 300 people living in the US, is HIV positive, and according to the CDC, one in sixteen Black men will be diagnosed with HIV during their lifetime.

I think we have a duty to help struggling regions with medical issues.

The second stat is probably driven directly from the incarceration rate of blacks. I toured a medium security state facility north of Albany in 1997. The CO taking us around said the HIV rate was I forget exactly but something like 80%. This particular place I think I saw 2 white guys incarcerated the whole time we were there. While most joints will not be nearly that lopsided racially, the HIV rate is probably similar.
