Probably well over half the people in the US take some unproven vitamin or "natural" supplement but swear it is effective against everything from cancer to hair loss. Quinine is a proven preventive for malaria so probably no harm in taking it for Covid19 as it is safe at reasonable levels. I have switched my daily cocktail to gin and tonic to get the quinine. Its insanity Do people take this stuff to AVOID malaria instead of a treatment?????????? Of course not Is there any drug on the planet that will help prevent the flu????????? This is so insane Its gonna dominate the new cycle and Trump will become angry because is just more fodder to make fun of him Talk about stepping into it. Its like the Cheech and Chong skit. Remdesivir will be front and center as an effective therapeutic, other therapeutics will follow. A vaccine will be well into Phase III testing and will have already demonstrated effective anti-body generation in Phase I & Phase II patients. The public has already begun rejecting the stay at home orders and closures of small businesses. By June 15, states that are not fully open will be facing mass civil unrest forcing Governors to re-open everything except for mass gatherings (e.g. Concerts, Live Sporting Event Crowds, etc.). Trump will hold political rallies beginning in August to outcries from the Left. Conservatives that feel the personal risk to getting seriously sick are low based on the statistics will attend in droves and likely mask-less despite the outcries from CNN/MSNBC. The Economy that was pre-Covid-19 will show signs of coming back as third quarter earnings reports detail a rebound in consumer demand. The 33 million unemployed will be spending their $50K in annualized Fed & State UI weekly benefits, for most being Unemployed meant a raise. The still employed will deploy pent up demand on a re-opened economy, having money saved from buying less gasoline and eating more at home during the two plus month lock down. The July and August Jobs Numbers will be key data points determining if re-hiring is taking place as the $600/week in supplemental UI benefits dries up for most. Bad numbers will help Biden's Candidacy. Counteracting that fact pattern, Biden will have stumbled through answers at several awkward moments during the Presidential Debates and look like a teetering old man when asked to perform as a functioning human in the public spotlight. Trump will win FL/AZ/NE/NC & WI at a minimum to gain the required 270 Electoral Votes and may pick up PA or MI along the way. RGB gets replaced on SCOTUS with Trump Nominee and Breyer doesn't make it 4 more years. SCOTUS goes 7-2 Conservative/Strict Constitutional Interpretation. Alternatively none of this happens. The Biden Administration leads us into a 2021 Depression and the Greatest Country in the modern world is toppled by the resulting Socialist Agenda. I am placing my bet that Trump will be re-elected despite all the Twitter & Press Conference missteps, the warts and the orange tan appearance. The Oompa Loompa will be in office for four more years. Thanks for posting that. I actually support Trump's right to be taking the drug despite most available evidence showing it won't help. The POTUS clearly has made a risk/benefit analysis decision, and he believes the risk potential benefit outweighs the potential risk. If he is wrong and suffers an adverse event, so be it. If I test positive, I'm begging for Remdesivir. |

Regardless of anyone's politics or how you feel about Trump or Pelosi personally, She more than any other human being alive has his number and aggravates him to no end. She knows exactly the right thing to say that will stick in his crawl. Trump has a hard time with Women in Power anyway and even though I share very little of her political agenda, she has masterfully outplayed him at every turn, politically. I guess that is sort of to be expected as she is 30-40 year politician and he is not and not used to anyone opposing him. He comes from a world where he is King and rarely challenged. The "morbidly obese" comment no doubt irritates the hell out of him. By the medical charts, he is morbidly obese. Many Americans are. With some weight gain during this stay at home period, I have gained 12-15 lbs and find myself 'overweight' according to the charts for the first time in my life. It's not a good feeling and no one wants to hear it. I am surprised Trump hasn't demanded the Medical association to change the charts. lol |
