Ed, there are an abundance of doctors who believe still, that it helps. (Not me). There wouldn't have been all the anecdotes and reports of success, resulting in the clinical trials without them. Being hopeful that chloroquin would be helpful at the time was a very reasonable position taken by Trump.

He was promoting it instead of being honest about it
Watching Foxnews right now. Its the no BS hour unlike Trumps pressers. Fox broadcasting Cuomo's presser. So refreshing to hear honesty regarding the pandemic

Don't move the goalposts now. You weren't "talking about deaths within the United States".

Quote: reno
Cumulative US deaths as of March 31: 3,806
Cumulative US deaths as of April 13: 23,621

Which means that so far in the month of April, there were 19,815 deaths in the US.

"US" stands for United States.

Ah, so you're gonna double down on your BS by deflecting? Here's the statement I made & here's the question you asked in response:

When 1.25 million people die each year in car accidents, the libbies don't bat an eye.
1.25 million people die annually in car accidents? Where did you get that crazy number?

I made a statement about global deaths.
YOU asked me a question and wanted to know where I got that "crazy number".
I answered your question and provided my source.

But instead of saying "Gee Mr. Shrek, thanks for explaining where you got that number!" you now have to deflect and bring up stuff that has nothing to do with your initial question or my initial statement.

I gotta expect these lame tactics by a libbie though. A true libbie you are! 😂😂😂

"Deaths expected" for the year 2020 is a good metric since it takes into account the age of the population, diet, normal medical care, and historical data. The ratio of the coronavirus deaths to expected deaths is over 3% in the worst hit European countries.

The countries on this list had over 1000 coronavirus deaths, and cumulatively represent 93% of the coronavirus deaths around the world.

Ratio Country | Coronavirus | Deaths Expected
4.00% Spain | 18,579 | 464,147
3.87% Belgium | 4,440 | 114,629
3.25% Italy | 21,645 | 666,460
2.64% France | 17,167 | 649,307
2.07% United Kingdom | 12,868 | 622,758
1.97% Netherlands | 3,134 | 159,152
1.73% Switzerland | 1,239 | 71,434
1.26% Sweden | 1,203 | 95,801
1.06% Iran | 4,777 | 450,094
1.00% United States | 27,549 | 2,767,557
0.37% Germany | 3,592 | 969,932
0.34% Canada | 1,006 | 298,160
0.30% Turkey | 1,518 | 502,767
0.11% Brazil | 1,590 | 1,452,372
0.03% China | 3,342 | 11,472,751

You can see why China's numbers are suspicious. They are either fantastic at preventative care and diagnosis, or they are trying to fool the world. An increase of 0.03% is almost insignificant.

The press around the world is now running articles asking this question.
Swedish coronavirus model under fire as deaths rise
Using the above metric which takes into account the older age of the Swedish population, their death rate is not really that bad. It is rising, but the number of deaths is rising everywhere. I am not convinced that Sweden did such a terrible thing by preserving their economy.

Well, if anyone of them are sick, some may be soon, all close together like that.

Do you want to believe the guy who was doing talks on a future pandemic 4 years ago or Trump?

Quote:
President Donald Trump's decision to withhold funding to the World Health Organization pending a review of its handling of the coronavirus pandemic is "as dangerous as it sounds," Bill Gates said Wednesday.

"Their work is slowing the spread of Covid-19 and if that work is stopped no other organization can replace them. The world needs @WHO now more than ever," the Microsoft founder and philanthropist said in a tweet.

You always keep telling us to listen to the scientists. I was aware Gates has any kind of medical training.

It’d be better to say “listen to the people who aren’t complete dumbasses.”

Then we could all just tune out Donny, as we should.
