Trust when you have some familiarity with the subject; faith when it is utterly beyond your ken.

Exactly. So saying you have faith
in your brakes is wrong because
you've used them thousands
of time and trust they'll work
because you have a ton of
familiarity with them.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

I'm glad we are on the same page finally Bob!

Unprovable, you have no evidence anybody
was ever helped by a god. Atheists fare just
as well as believers, with no 'help' from a god
at all. In fact, prisons are loaded with god
believers, with atheists almost non existent
behind bars. This looks like a colossal
failure on your god's part. does it not?

You and I both know countless people who were helped by God, what are you talking about?

In regards to prison I think it would be a good time to come to know God and ask for forgiveness and the strength to change your ways. Nothing at all strange there, in fact more evidence of how God can change the lives of people for the better. I can easily understand why there aren't many atheists in prison, it is probably the same reason you won't find many in foxholes.

I know people who convince themselves
god helps them, that doesn't mean a
god is doing it. George Burns swore
his dead wife Gracie spoke to him
every time he visited her grave. Does
that make it true?

Obviously they break fewer laws, duh.
We aren't atheists so we can be amoral
law breaking jerks, we're atheists because
we don't see a god. And even if there was
a god, why would he need to be worshiped.
Is he that egomaniacal and insecure?

Yeah, but it's annoying pretending all accepted sources are equal.
I don't know anyone who does that. A glance out the window is often just dandy, I don't need the weather bureau's forecast to know if it is raining.

Mark 16:18 King James Version (KJV)
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

I missed this post. Imagine the poppycockia
they took out if they left this nonsense in.
How can anything in the NT be taken seriously
with passages like the one above. Being a
Xtion is all about being in permanent
denial. They just see what they want to
see in the NT and block out the rest. The
rest of us can't do that.

I know people who convince themselves there is no God, that doesn't mean there is no God.

You are running away from real evidence here. Anytime someone says God has helped them you ignore and deride them because you have already made up your mind there is no God. I really can't help you with that. You have closed your mind and made a decision to not believe in God no matter what.

Oh Bob, it is almost hopeless with you.

Correct. It's the total lack of evidence
that proves that.

Nope. Every time I hear their
'evidence', it's something that
could be explained 4 other ways
before a god would enter into
it. God is always last on any list
of explanations. My sister in law
thinks every green light and
sunset is a gift from god. Yeah,
no...

This doesn't make any sense; do you want to rephrase it or think about it again.
