My understanding is that Amazon was going to locate in Long Island City in the 12th district which is adjacent to AOC's 14th district. I would imagine that the Congresswoman from that district would be pretty upset about this talk.

The 12th district's per capita income, in excess of $75,000, is the highest among all congressional districts in the United States. President Donald Trump's primary private residence, Trump Tower, is located in the district.



The development would have looked pretty nice. The tall silver building on the left already exists, but all the others would have been built.

There must have been some massive commissions on the construction of new buildings and the value of the pre-existing apartment building would have zoomed. That's a lot of angry money.
