Incorrect. Disney's Song of the South was released in 1946. Mary Poppins was released in 1964.

Incidentally, there's a ride at Disneyland based on Song of the South even though it was never released on VHS, DVD, or Blu-Ray!

One of the lead actors in film was prohibited to attend the movie's premiere in Atlanta due to his skin color.

Thank you for the correction.

How about this, from 1944:

If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

I want to see Mary Poppins Returns, but my kids have never seen the original so have no interest at all. I probably will end up going by myself and everybody else in the theater will feel sorry for me.

The star was supposed to jump into an airbag while wearing high heels,
the stunt woman went first to prove that it was safe .... and she broke her ankle.

You should make your kids watch the original, then they'll appreciate how weak the sequel is.

I'm genuinely surprised that there are people who haven't seen the original. It is such a well known piece of western culture, and it has been easily accessible for decades.

Why would he punish them if they've
done nothing wrong. If they're over
the age of five, kids are far too
sophisticated now to ever like MP.
I was 16 when I first saw it and I
still haven't gotten over it. I left
halfway thru and snuck into another
movie.

They'll just think you're Gay.

"But how gay is Mary Poppins Returns?? Well, it’s a musical, so check box one. Mary Poppins is a gay icon, so check box two. And most importantly, Michael Banks is played by a gay man!"

Poppins is a Gay icon because anything that
starred Julie Andrews is worshiped by Gays.
Poppins, Sound of Music, Victor/Victoria.

Mary Poppins Returns got trashed so badly, it ended up as a Newspaper Headline! You know that's really bad when it ends up as a Newspaper Headline! Mary Poppins Returns is a Really Mirthless Remake," was the Headline IIRC.
