Part of the fun of it, Mary Poppins is a truly heinous witch. It's not all sugar by a long way.
Never doubt a small group of concerned citizens can change the world; it's the only thing ever has

Really funny in a dozen or more spots, adult jokes over the head of kids but not hurting them.

It's not my favorite Disney movie, but it is the only Disney movie with a musical scene sung by bank executives:

Think of the foreclosures!"

I think it was the first feature film to blend live action with animation.

Incorrect. Disney's Song of the South was released in 1946. Mary Poppins was released in 1964.

Incidentally, there's a ride at Disneyland based on Song of the South even though it was never released on VHS, DVD, or Blu-Ray!

One of the lead actors in film was prohibited to attend the movie's premiere in Atlanta due to his skin color.

Horrible bullying father figure,

Incidentally, Walt Disney mistakenly thought that Mary Poppins' goal was to save the 2 kids. But PL Travers (the author of the books) corrected Walt, explaining that Poppins' goal was to save the horrible father from his own worst tendencies, hence the film title Saving Mr. Banks.

It's probably not a coincidence that Mrs. Travers was an unpleasant person that Walt couldn't stand.

Too me its on par with Willy Wonka

WW gave me the creeps, never seen most
of it. I like Johnny Depp but know I would
hate him in WW.

Glad there's still one person out there who likes him.

I never saw the original. Too kiddie for me just as Mary Poppins is too kiddie
I like Johnny Depp a lot but had no interest in seeing the remake. Too kiddie

The Gene Wilder original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is much better than the remake.

Good god, really? The orig was creepy and
awful, and the remake is worse? Not possible.

You don't like seeing a chicken get its head cut off?

I heard the PC Police were all over the color of the ooompa loompahs in the remake.

I pride myself on not knowing what
the heck an oompa loompa is.
