SOOPOO Member since: Feb 19, 2014 Threads: 22 Posts: 4171 | I watched parts (not all so perhaps I am being unfair) of the press conference/signing thingie for the USMCA deal. The flavor I got from Trump was that the US was the big loser with NAFTA, and the US is the big winner in USMCA. I was hoping to hear it sound more like it was a good deal for all 3 nations. To me he sounded like a bully who won, and was putting it in the face of the weaker guys. Now..... HE DID GET IT DONE! And by all accounts it will be good for US manufacturers, farmers, workers..... It MUST be because it was so obvious to enough Democrats to vote for it despite it being a feather in Trump's chapeau. He did say one thing I liked..... He said it is because he can help create millions of jobs, increase middle class wages, decrease middle class taxes, help American businesses succeed, that he did "this". By "this" he meant being President. Said how easy his life was before being President, and how much 'stuff' he has to put up with now. It's true, of course. |

It is true. Robbing people through a fake university scam, stealing from his own charity, and having his daddy bail him out of several bad business decisions sounds like a pretty easy life. Contrast to now, where he passed a tax bill where 80% of the benefits goes to people like him WHEN HE SAID ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL THAT HE WOULD NOT CUT TAXES FOR RICH PEOPLE. That he would eliminate the debt (trillion dollar deficits are back...in a "roaring" economy? Since when did deficit spending in a "roaring" economy become a fiscally conservative policy? lol) Yeah, Donny has it so hard. Good thing the "poorly educated" are in his corner. |

Thank god we finally have a president who's on OUR SIDE. It was sickening watching Obama constantly dis the USA every chance he got. We have a president who's looking out for our best interests first. If you can't handle that, Soopoo, move to Canada. Lots of 'feel good' politics there. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

President SOOPOO wouldn't. There is certainly a way to laud the benefits to the USA without making the countries we made the deal with look like losers. I think he said something about us now being able have export 5 times more eggs to Canada. I would phrase it as good for the USA egg farms, and also good that Canadians would have more access to great quality American eggs. You and EB clearly do not care about the behavior of the President. It may surprise you that there are a lot of Conservatives/Republicans who agree with many (most?) of his policies and still just hate the way he comports himself. Perhaps if the USMCA was presented as more of an agreement that was agreed upon by 3 countries as a win for all 3 countries, the next trade agreement with a foreign country might be easier to attain? Would you want someone like Trump as your immediate boss? Your friend? Your business associate? Your husband? I DO want him as my president ..... unless and until the American people vote him out. |

I agree, I think the guy acts like a complete moron but I haven't had many issues with his politics. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent. |

And that's why you'd make a crappy president. Reagan was great because he was totally pro USA. Obama sucked because hates this country. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I have a lot of issues Against tariffs. I have always supported international trade without tariffs. Its a conservative point I totally agree with Against Socialism giving Corp farmers billions free. Even Detroit paid back. Farmers getting billions is socialism. The deficit. Its exploding. Just as the housing bubble crashed the economy, owing a gazillion dollars will catch up to us and crash the economy I always believed in balancing the budget. Its a conservative point I agree with Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

Complete moron? How? By acting like a man and standing up For himself? Romney and McCain tried impressing the country club set. Look where it got them. The President is a fink. |
