I got a 1910 craftsman mill-hunky duplex. I had to to a ton to fix it to livable but now it works for me. Hope to put in a deck and hot tub next two years. My living cost is low, low, low. And I love it. I have been laid off 8 or more times the last 10 years. One woman in one layoff spent more on cigarettes that I do on my mortgage. Next year the mortage is paid off! I have a second that I have financed a rental with, but once that rents, 3-4 years and I am golden. The President is a fink. |

You mean a Sears house? I don't know what mill-hunky is. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Not Sears, it was a style of house back in the day. You never heard the term "mill hunky?" The President is a fink. |

Nope. Google says it's an old disparaging term for steel mill workers in PA. A very localized idiom. “It originated in the coal regions of Pennsylvania and West Virginia, where Poles and other immigrants from East-Central Europe (Hungarians (Magyar), Rusyns, Slovaks) came to perform hard manual labor on the mines. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

That is pretty much it. I had no idea it was so localized. Common term in these parts. At least used to be. The President is a fink. |

We have the biggest settlement of people from the Netherlands in the US 30 miles from here, Holland MI. We call them 'Hollanders' and it's a very disparaging term. It means you're cheap and self righteous, and still have the first dollar you ever made. The ones from the old country would literally walk with their noses in the air because they felt so superior. We also have the best looking women because of the blond Nordic influence. I came back from 7 years in Calif and my jaw dropped, I had forgotten all the tall blond beauties that live here. Way better by far than SoCal. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Here's what General Mattis said about Woodward: “The contemptuous words about the President attributed to me in Woodward’s book were never uttered by me or in my presence. While I generally enjoy reading fiction, this is a uniquely Washington brand of literature, and his anonymous sources do not lend credibility,” Mattis said in a statement. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
