I get great pleasure out of your desperation.

Trump has already lost the election. That poor little man's ego will never recover.

I worry more about the ego's of his supporters... I also don't think it's over yet, but I don't see Donald making any spectacular moves to regain his position... it'll either be a massive Democrat failure (like getting out the vote), or a Republican doing something that massively helps Trump on their own... he seems rather artless with real politics. His press conference before the last debate was.... not good. A better team would have made it good.

Nice opinion piece by Mike Rowe on why he's not telling everyone to go and vote:

His ego will be fine. Losing the election will probably be more financially profitable than winning it.

Besides, he won't internalize any of his losing as being his fault... Hillary's policies will help him keep and grow his wealth and, no matter how much money he does or doesn't have, having over a billion dollars insulates you from the realities many others face.

He'll be fine.

It is a good piece. Everyone shouldn't vote just because they can; they should actually at least get some minimal knowledge of the issues before voting. That is different than saying that they should not be ALLOWED to vote no matter how ignorant of the issues they are or what their positions on the issues are...no one that is eligible to vote should be stopped from voting.

That's a horrible thing to say :)

Perhaps, but not the point.

All politicians have a touch of narcissism, egomania, egotism, vanity or low self-esteem in varying measures and combinations (this is also true in other professions such as acting, but less so). Trump scores very high in all.

See, he knows he's not richer than everyone else, and he can't even pretend to be (though I'm sure he can, and does, pretend to be richer than he is). I mean, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and several others could buy him with the loose change in their couch. But he can fancy himself a nebulous "better" than everyone else. People like that don't take well to failure, especially when they did things their way 90% of the time at least. See, if you're "better" than everyone else, then anything you do has to be "better" than what other people do, even when they do the same things you do. But low self-esteem requires putting people down as well. That's why he has an insult for everyone who disagrees with him. And that bit of times when he did as someone else suggested, well, they were just WRONG.

When he loses, he'll blame everyone, from Clinton to Ryan to the media to illegal immigrants and the voters and everyone else, and he'll claim there was fraud, and he'll make a sorry, messy spectacle of himself.

Note to the GOP: amend your party rules so that anyone wanting to run for president in the primaries, perforce has to have been a registered Republican for at least 10 years, not necessarily consecutive. Hell, make a rule stating "Donald Trump cannot run for any office under the GOP at any time for any reason for any amount of money."

And remember this line "But no one I know voted for her."

Rasmussen? LOL

If you were allowed to post over at Wizard of Vegas, you'd have seen my post where I pointed out that like clockwork, righties always rely on Rasmussen polls to pretend that their candidate is winning.

Rasmussen is an awful pollster. Always at least a 3 point lean to the right. But if that's what keeps hope alive in your heart, believe it.

It will make election night much more painful for you and much more satisfying for me.

Indeed.

But there is some danger.

People don't like Clinton, but they don't yet find her personally disgusting the way they do Trump. When he behaves remotely like a decent person, he makes up lost ground. So eh can still catch up, if he behaves and if Clinton doesn't do something incredibly stupid and/r there are no major revelations that would hurt her.

I'm sure Trump will do something self-destructive again, probably several somethings. He can't help himself. I'm less certain what Clinton will do, or what she's still hiding.

Either candidate could be up in these national polls, tally the most votes in the election, and still lose. Trends at the national level are "nice" but they are not worth a whole lot because it is all about the electoral college. A candidate could win only 11 states and 1 congressional district electoral vote in Maine and get to 270. That candidate could easily be a good bit behind in the national polls and in 39 states and DC.

The state-by-state information is much more relevant than national trends. Trump has a long way to go on that front...RCP shows 260 looking good for Clinton with only 165 looking the same for Trump.
