There are a lot of people out there preaching hate and intolerance that are not part of any religion. I'm saying that there are no Churches outside of Westboro that this weekend are preaching anything but love, tolerance, and non-violence.

I am still looking for reactions from the congregation or the church's national organization, but while I was I found that in addition to:

Quote:
Sacramento Pastor Roger Jimenez lamenting that the Orlando shooter didn’t kill every last person in the club that night and calling for the government to line every gay person in America against a wall and execute them via firing squad, Fort Worth Pastor Donnie Romero of the Stedfast Baptist Church applauded the hateful sermon and added his sickening two cents.

and right in the middle of that article,
Quote:
Romero was also echoing Arizona pastor Steven Anderson, who also had no sympathy or compassion for his fellow human beings and also called for all gays people to be executed.

Manly Perry, a Texas pastor who has given a sermon at Jimenez’s church:
Quote:
“That church in my opinion has the best-organized program and outreach in the community,” he said. “He’ll be looked at as a hatemonger, but he’s actually the exact opposite … He’s got a genuine love for people. He wants to see people saved.”

Perry also repeated several times:
Quote:
“The Bible is very clear that homosexuals should have the death penalty.”
"Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not to his own facts." Daniel Patrick Moynihan

My bro in law is a Baptist minister and I
know darn well he's not upset over the
shooting. He would never say it, but he's
always preaching that Gay's will get the
'wrath of god' for their evil ways. I'm
glad, according to FrG, that the Vatican
is much more tolerant than the rest of
Christianity.

So those passages in the Bible calling homosexuality "an abomination," and prescribing a barbaric means of execution without recourse or appeal, mean what exactly?

As long as they won't renounce some of the words in the Bible directly, there's no reason to ever fully trust them. Why should we?

There's an expression I picked up in one of Harry Turtledove's AH series: "I wouldn't trust you as far as I can throw you." This pretty much sums up my feelings regarding all serious religious believers.

Now, it would seem there are 11 Commandments, not ten, and the most important is "Thou shalt always pick and choose." It's certainly the one that garners the most obedience. The problem remains: what if they pick differently later on?

That is the name of the library, "Jesus Christ is the Son of God Free Library - All are welcome!".

All right then, tell me what's free about it. Tell
me that I have to do absolutely nothing to
accept this gift. Tell me that nothing is required
of me except to say thanks and never think
of it again. Actually, if it's really free, I can take
it and just walk away. I didn't ask for it, you say
it's freely given. Like somebody walking up
to me on the street holding out a $20
bill and saying 'take it, it's free'.

Your free gift is the same, right? No strings,
no conditions, no expectations. That's how
really free gifts work. Can you confirm your
gift works like this?

Whoa there Bob I said it was free not cheap. It is the greatest gift you could ever desire and it is something you could never ever afford. It is given to you absolutely free. Now after you receive it I guess you could ignore it but why would you do that? You could attack the person who gave you this gift, but why? If you did do those things maybe you didn't really receive the gift in the first place or understand it.

My mistake, there are 12 commandments, not 11. As I said previously, the most obeyed is "Thou shalt always pick and choose." Then the other one is "Thou shalt never use the common meaning of common words," or something like that.

That's how we get oppression passed off as love, and now total submission given as a gift.

This is beyond Orwellian.

You're still advertising the fantasy mansion property sight unseen. Pure hucksterism.

If all of you (the church) were doing this for free in your spare time, you'd at least have a stronger argument.

Not for truth, but at least for commitment.
