The fact Trump often makes Cruz look like the sane reasonable voice of the Republican party is an impressive trick.

Cruz/Kasich from the floor of the RNC?

Not as impressive as hailing Trump for his bigotry while denying he's a bigot.

That's an impressive trick. Or it would be if it could be carried out. It would be doublethink worthy of the Catholic church.

GOP is a big-tent party where many ideas are welcome.

LOL
Trump camp says Ryan not fit for speaker if he can't back Trump

http://www.breitbart.com/video/2016/05/06/trump-spokeswoman-ryan-isnt-fit-to-be-speaker-if-he-wont-support-trump/

Only a matter of time when Trump goes the bully route calling Ryan a loser due to 2012 :-)

President Obama 2008 carried 28 states + DC + Nebraska's 2nd congressional district
President Obama 2012 carried 26 states + DC

The two states that deserted Obama in 2012 (North Carolina and Indiana) + Nebraska's 2nd congressional district usually went Republican anyway. By the second year of President Obama's first term, those states were polling that they were going to vote Republican, regardless of the candidate.

Trump has to retain all the states that Obama lost in 2012, and add (Florida, Ohio, + Pennsylvania) or (Florida, Ohio, Virginia and Colorado).
TRUMP won Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia
KASICH won Ohio
CRUZ won Colorado

The fact that Trump didn't win the primary in two of those five states is not a good omen.

Mitt Romney won all five of those states in the 2012 Republican primaries, but didn't win any of them in the general election.
McCain won 4 out of 5 of those states in the 2008 Republican primaries (losing Colorado to Romney), but didn't win any of them in the general election.

It generally helps if you are the favored choice for candidate. People are more likely to go out in force for the general election.

Colorado did not have a vote.
Ohio went to the sitting governor.
The President is a fink.

Colorado still assigns it's delegates

Cruz won AK, CO, ID, IA, KS, OK, TX, UT, WY in the primaries, but these states are almost certain to vote for Trump in general election rather than for Hillary
Cruz also won ME and WI, but they will probably vote for Hillary.

Bush won five states Virginia, Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Nevada both elections, plus New Hampshire in 2000 and New Mexico and Iowa in 2004. Obama took all of these states in both elections.

Obviously it is not a requirement that Trump win the primaries, but it would be a much better omen if he was the favorite Republican candidate in the battleground states.

Hillary won VA, NV,FL, IA, OH, and PA with Bernie only winning Colorado as a battleground state.

Most Dems do agree, if you do not toe their line they will isolate you. Might be the reason there seems to be twice the interest in the GOP field? GOP is a big-tent party where many ideas are welcome.

??
Didn't Palin and Trump get your memo

Because Paul Ryan will not toe the Trump line Palin wants to isolate him and defeat him. She is openly supporting another repub.
Not a big enough tent for the Republican House Speaker lol

As for Trump
You would think the tent is big enough for evangelicals
Any evangelical not toeing the Trump line gets hit by his twitter drive by insult

"Businessman and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is now openly attacking leaders of the Religious Right who are critical of him, using Twitter to blast the head of the Southern Baptist Convention’s political arm as “a nasty guy with no heart.”
On Monday morning, Trump published a tweet labeling Russell Moore, head of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, as “a terrible representative of Evangelicals.” Moore is an established leader of the Religious Right"

Well, he can't be all bad.

Still, it begins to lend credence to the bizarre conspiracy theory that trump is a plant of the democratic party ;)

Interesting analysis by Lefsetz (music producer and people analyser) on Trump and Bernie:

http://lefsetz.com/wordpress/2016/05/11/bernie-wins-again/

- in short, he sees the anger and upset with the DC elites as the fuel why Trump could win the presidency... based on how Sanders is doing, he sees oppurtunities for Trump as well.
