An ancient text

Your statement was about your
proof that god exists, not about
who Jesus was.. To which I
replied "So you say, but never present. Any
'evidence' you have talked about
isn't real evidence,"

Quote:
all you have is your personal experience of not seeing God.

No, me, and the 92% of scientists
in the National Institute of
Science in GB, are atheists
because we have never seen
any compelling evidence for gods
existence. Real hard evidence,
not theories and hearsay and
anecdotal personal stories.
Where would you even start to
look for a god. You pray and
get no answer, You finally come
to the conclusion that if he wants
me he knows where I am and you
keep disbelieving till that day
arrives. Why burden yourself till
then.

Hey FrG, have you ever wondered why,
if I'm such a big atheist, why did I marry
into such a Xtian family. Why did I
marry a devout Xtian women? Because
they're great. They don't smoke or
drink or do drugs. They don't usually
cheat on you or get divorced. They
don't swear, or have disgusting habits,
or lie. My wife refuses to lie about
anything. She had the religion beaten
into her by a Baptist minister father.

I always tell men looking for a wife
to start going to church even if they
aren't religious. The best looking and
best behaved women are in churches.
I would never marry a secular woman,
too risky. So yeah, there are good things
in Xtianity that even an atheist can
appreciate.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

FrG hasn't responded to this. Or this.

Still silence from FrG. Is it because
we discovered that:

There was no real sacrifice. Jesus died
for a day and a half in the myth and
awoke to huge rewards. That's the
opposite of a sacrifice.

There were no 'miracles' like walking
on water, even a god cannot violate
the laws of physics. We don't live
in a comic book world.

There is no sin because there is no
god to sin against. The very definition
of sin is offending a god. My ex priest
friend says it was drilled into his head
in seminary that Jesus died to save
us from original sin. A concept that
didn't even exist in Jesus time. In
the myth Jesus died for it, in reality
he had no idea what it even was.

I don't blame him for not answering,
his religion has more holes than swiss
cheese. It's built entirely of hearsay,
anecdotal 'evidence'.

FrG..... Did Jesus know before he died that he would be resurrected? If he was kept in the dark by the other two deities (God and Holy Ghost) then I could see it being considered a sacrifice. So do the three different Gods keep secrets from each other?

I like this one.

Sad they took both Frazier and Cheers off of Netflix. We used them for light background sound many times.

Jesus was fully god and fully
man, so says the myth. The
trinity is all one god, not
separate entities independent
of each other. Jesus knew
he was god.

Trinity:
the Christian Godhead as one God in three persons

This concept is nowhere in
the NT. It was cooked up
much later in the 3rd century.
Nobody knows what it means
or how it works or knows
how to explain it. It's a silly
mystery to confound the
simple minds of the believers.

There are no secrets in the Trinity, they are one God because in their community of love they give to each other fully. Think of the ideal love of husband and wife that the two become one flesh.
Jesus knew He was God but in His full humanity was not omniscient. The Incarnation meant He was not outside of time. He had a human intellect and was therefore limited in His knowledge and understanding. He had perfect faith and trust in God His Father as we are called to have, but did not know in the sense you mean it in your question of what would happen after His Resurrection. He had the faith of Abraham if that helps to explain it. Another thing that might help is to listen to the song from Jesus Christ Superstar when Jesus is in the Garden of Gethseme. I think it does a fairly good dramatic portal of what Jesus knew and didn't know. Hope that helps.

And there you have it. Perfect
faith in a good outcome is
the same as perfect fore
knowledge. So you just admitted
no sacrifice is possible when
you know for sure the deck is
100% stacked in your favor.
Thanks for finally seeing the light..
