In the office? Did they take anybody with them?

Not in office, no. Was a long timer that couldn't keep up. Started "stashing" mail that he couldn't get done. Got caught, federal crime, likely loss of all entitlements earned over 30yrs. Chose to opt out instead.

Tis the season.

Face, I like your description of the other mad man. If he was writing about you, what would he say? Also, how would the Post Master describe you?

No clue on the mad man. I find him hard to read, and though I refer to him as "my spirit animal" due to his open, violent hatred of most things around him, I also find him to be a massive POS. I oft switch back and forth between hero worship and soul cringe when it comes to him. Alls I know is I was told I've "made an impression on him", which is surprising because he gives zero f#$%s about anyone, and he WAS the guy that was gonna jump on me that day I was going ape-s#$% on the PM. I imagine he feels the same about me, as one day he'll show massive appreciation for my open disregard for weapons law and/or willingness to tangle with absolutely anyone, and the next look on in horror as I waltz with my cart while singing show tunes, outfitted in naught but my faded pink thermal shirt and LuLaRoe leggings, which I wear unapologetically. "Uncomfortable ally" I suppose would sum up our relationship.

The PM I have no clue as I almost never engage with him. I've no doubt he cringes when he sees me coming, and I've no doubt he has no idea how to deal with me. Sometimes I approach him with something insanely simple, sometimes I approach him with what can only be described as pure, selfless sacrifice. And sometimes I approach him with the barely controlled desire to chew his head off his body. And each time I approach him, neither of us has any idea which it'll be. I can only imagine how much stress it puts on him, because I know how much it puts on me. I also know that no one can come close to tolerating the misery that I can, so I'm fine to keep this up ad infinitum. He can certainly screw me harder than I can him, but NO ONE will make me break before I break them, and I don't give af about this job, pension, retirement, the lot. I might not win this battle, but I sure as s#$% ain't gonna lose.

And hell, I've made him pull his knife. As far as I'm concerned, I've already won. All the rest is just scoring point for seeding.
Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it.

Forgetting for the moment it is a crime and wrong on all levels, don't these kind of guys have a shredder or fireplace?

criminals draw strange lines. okay to kill a kid but not okay to leave the corpse for wild animals.
or you can detain the mail because you are too old to deliver it, but you must treat it with respect.

I suspect there are ways of getting
caught that don't include the actual
mail being found in your possession.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

I am sure there are, but you make it harder for them to catch you.

I would think just a few people
on your route complaining
would get the investigation going.

I can't figure why Face left a
cushy casino job for this stress
nightmare.

Damn, wish I had time to read this whole thread.

I got to about page 2 but I got my own job to do, damn it!

Our CCA is very surly, but I get it. If I happen to encounter him I used to give him a "good morning" or "how ya doing" or whatever. Now I get it. I'll just smile and nod now.
