| Face Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 61 Posts: 3941 | Love your story poles. Thanks =) I'm just here for a mini rant. Car's not in, I got stood up for the party, so I'm just gonna purge all this to try to free up some good vibes for tomorrow. So, in the spirit of Carlin, this here is just a list of people who need to be killed. Garbage men. First, to hell with your automatic truck that picks up the cans by itself. Get your fat ass out of the truck, hump that f#$%er, and GO! I ain't got time to be sitting behind you as you inch into position, some of us have to work. And, when you do finally have to get out and earn a buck, why in the hell must you plop the GD can right in front of the f#$%ing box? You have 100' of roadfront and half an acre of front yard. There is just 10' of all of that where you absolutely cannot put the can. WHY YOU INSIST ON PUTTING IT IN MY TEN FEET?!?!?! Volunteer firemen. Yes, I'm going there. You sunk $20k into your very own asphalt patch in which to park your vehicle. USE! IT! There is zero, none, nada extra time you save yourself by parking in the street, you self important ass hat. Spare me your "every second counts" BS. If a 90* turn from the very same spot is outside of your abilities, you need a handler for constant monitoring of your activities. This goes for every single other street parker. House party? Fine. Garage sale? Have at it. "Just because?" GFY. I got giant, elephant ear wing mirrors, no power steering, and negative patience. This ain't my truck, so just keep trying me. People in f#$%ing general. The horse s#$% that comes out of your mouths... some people just have not had enough ass kickings in their life, and by jove, I'm just about to right this wrong. "I had a hold and he left the mail in the box all week!" The f#$% I did, you lying waste of oxygen. What I really did was hold your mail, just as you asked, and delivered the whole heaping pile of it the very day you returned. Nice of me, innit? Saving you a trip to the PO, not disservicing you by having to wait a day, just BAM! Here it is! But no, asshole mail carrier is a retard, let's call and bitch! Or the GD package people. I'm not f#$%ing Al Roker. If it's not raining RIGHT NOW, then it's not raining. I don't know if it's gonna start in 10 minutes or 10 days, and I sure as f#$% don't know when you're getting off your ass to go outside. If you purchase goods online and they absolutely cannot get wet, MEET ME HALFWAY! Spend 5 f#$%ing dollars on a Rubbermade tote, write "USPS" on it, and put it on your stoop. I'll fill and seal that son of a bitch every time, because I bring service like that. But if you ain't got no tote, and no stoop, no awning, no porch, the f#$% you expect me to do?! Bag it? Thanks for giving me another task, appreciate it, but no. We're not allowed. Straight from the supe, "we do not bag". And it's a crime to halt the mail, so you're getting your package. It's wet? That happens. Do your part and it wouldn't be. Problem? Mirror. The f#$% out of my face. Ahhh =) I know there was more, but I already feel pretty good right now. If there are any garbage men, firemen, or self important asshats here, spread the word. All y'all are on notice ;) Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |

But give a bean counter half a chance in some article's "quote" or maybe court testimony about how much it costs to run a fire-truck, or similarly a cop car chasing an OJ somebody or something, maybe an ambulance, and it "costs $50,000 per mile" or some crazy amount where you allow all the overhead for the whole year plus profit to be figured in on it. They are. Nothing against them, I'm aiming at the sophistry of wild claims that go unchallenged. If it really cost a billion dollars to do it, they'd never drive it out of the station to check it out daily. Maybe I'm attuned to these wild claims and most people aren't; if the local government tries to bill you, you get a glimpse. https://www.reddit.com/r/personalfinance/comments/3ngwtp/brother_got_a_bill_from_the_fire_department/ I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

Some of them are. Some are lazy slobs who glommed onto a well paying job and hang in there for the retirement benefits. Just like every other profession, it has it's bad apples. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Is a raise involved? If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
