sometimes I'm not very nice to you or others, sorry about that.

self-right·eous
adjective
adjective: self-righteous

having or characterized by a certainty, especially an unfounded one, that one is totally correct or morally superior.

The unfounded certainty in this case being
that god and sin even exist, neither of which
has any evidence at all of being a reality.

I think you do great, but maybe that is because I'm comparing you to Evenbob.

If you're going to apologize for something, it should be for having said this. :)

I could argue your faith blinds you to the truth, you know. At root, human beings cannot help but to be biological organisms. This sounds so self-evident as to be unworthy of note, but it isn't. Biological systems, as I like to say, are messy. Consider just the interconnection between your digestive, excretory and sexual systems, or that you use interconnected pipes to eat, breathe and cry.

Now, to think the most complex part of an organism is free of this messiness, and that therefore a large number of behaviors can be boiled down to one sentence in one book, without any proof, is so self-evidently simplistic as to be unworthy of note.

It's not that easy to draw the line. for instance, 99.08% of what I post here(*) is completely hidden from my family and colleagues. Not to mention that after four years on Facebook, my family still thinks I don't have an account there.

What is the purpose of this? (sorry for the derail)

I never understood it, and I know I read that sharing is part of the cooking process that you enjoy. I can understand not giving away grandma's cookbook, sure. You don't want to lose the recipes, or lose grandma's possession. But to just share? I don't get it.

My potato craps has turned up amazing results that I've received rave reviews about. I was more than happy to share, because why not? Care to explain? You can answer in your thread, if you want

Peace, tranquility and quiet.

Hey, you asked.

Very much. Also it's a good place to keep my recipes.

Would that I had my grandmother's recipes... She never wrote anything down!

Oh, I no objection to share any of my recipes. The ones I haven't posted here are failed experiments, not worth sharing. But if you wanted them, and I could recall them, I'd tell you.

I was referring to the context of what my family knows about me. My mother sometimes asks about my cooking, or I will talk to her about it. But she's also under the impression I do not bring pork into the house. ever. So she doesn't need to know I've cooked bacon, or pork loin, or spaghetti carbonara (bacon again), or pepperoni mini-pizzas. Why make trouble?

Science has discovered that when a sperm
meets an egg in humans, a flash of light
occurs.

http://www.wnd.com/2016/04/stunning-video-flash-of-light-at-moment-of-conception/

A god believer will froth at the mouth at
this news. 'That's proof', they'll scream.
'That's proof god exists!!'

Sadly, no. There is a reason it happens, just
like there is a reason for everything.

"Scientists attribute the flash to a trigger release of calcium that occurs when the sperm enters the egg, and that deposit causes an expulsion of zinc. As the zinc pours forth, it carries with it small molecules that give off a fluorescent light."

Isn't that amazing, something very special is happening at that flash of light.

It's the same 'miracle' that you see when
you turn on a fluorscent fixture. A chemical
reaction produces light. Nothing mysterious
at all. They've seen this light in other creatures,
like mice, but the equipment hasn't been
sophisticated enough till now to see it in
humans. Science has the correct answer for
everything if you just have patience. God should
always be the very last answer for every question.
So far, god has been the correct answer for zero
of them.
