I'll watch anything with Marion Cotillard
in it. She's wonderful.

Ask her about her thoughts on 9/11.

Seen Breaking Bad
Still need to see the latest season of Saul
Watched about 6 episodes of Orange and did not hook me
The rest looks interesting
I bounce from streaming service to streaming service. I'm on Amazon just for Bosch. Undecided how long I will stay since I need to go back to Netflix for last season of Saul if its there.
Still hooked on Bosch so reading one of the latest books I have not read yet

Mama Mia.

Oh My Dear God. How was this trash a
BO hit? The critics lambasted it. Like
most of the one star reviewers, I
lasted 30 min. Watching an almost
60 year old Meryl Streep dance and
sing and act like she was 30 again
was painful. One critic said watching
this movie should be the new definition
of torture.

Nobody could sing. Colin Firth and
Pierce Brosnon as singers and dancers
was a joke. But Streep was the worst,
she looked ridiculous. Just an awful
movie.

Harlan Coben is an American writer, who for some reason writes the kind of dense complex crime thrillers set in Europe. I associate these kind of stories more with British writers.

Both stories involve a group of people whose inner world and backstory is very slowly revealed. The whodunnit part of the story is very secondary.

Michael C. Hall was in "Six Feet Under" and in Dexter.

I worked at a movie theater when Mamma Mia came out. The audience was mostly senior citizens. It was quite popular. It came out at the same time as The Dark Knight and it worked quite well as counterprograming to that. I remember one really old man coming up to me after his showing ended and telling me what a wonderful movie Mamma Mia was because there was "no bad language and no violence."

Old people HATE bad language and violence in movies.

Musicals are not really that popular in the US and Canada. Mamma Mia made $3 out of $4 overseas. It made almost as money in Britain as the USA & Canada despite a 7:1 population difference.

The domestic market (by estimated tickets sold) has really only had two mega non animated musical hits from the 1970s and a third recent hit, Beauty and the Beast. which began life as an animated film.

The premise of the movie is ridiculous.
The young girl is about 18 and is the
result of a fling her mom had when
she was young and carefree. But her mom
is almost 60, and the men are now
in their 50's. So the mom was 40 when
she got knocked up? Almost old enough
to know how to use birth control..

Worst choreography ever. Mostly older
washer women types moving their feet
and waving their arms over their heads.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.
