On Netflix it is just call ADMIRAL. Don't type in THE ADMIRAL or you will get the movie called MYEONG-RYANG (THE ADMIRAL) (2014) a historical movie about warfare between the Koreans and Japanese.

It does look good.

Battle of Scheveningen 31 July 1653 Julian calendar

William III (King Billy) was born on 4 November 1650, so he was age 2 at the time.

From 30 January 1649 until 2 May 1660 Great Britain was without a monarch and was facing bloody wars under Oliver Cromwell. OC was called Lord Protector of England (which, at the time, included Wales), Scotland and Ireland from 16 December 1653.

The Republic of the Seven United Netherlands lasted from 1581–1795, hence comment about the Netherlands being the only Republic in the world.

Admiral
Very good Movie
Glad I watched it
Action scenes are spectacular.
As for EB, The Dutch speak Dutch, The English speak English and The French speak French.
Scenes with the English Admiral and scenes with the English King are in English

Adam Sandler's career must be over. He's
doing pure crap movies like The Do-Over
for Nflix. What garbage.

Forbes just released its list of 2013’s most overpaid stars and topping the list—Adam Sandler. No surprise there: Sandler, whose resume of stinker films includes the fairly unmemorable “Jack and Jill” and “That’s My Boy,” hasn’t had much luck at the box office of late, but that hasn’t stopped him from making tons of money at the box office. Forbes analyzed Sandler’s overpaid status based on how much his films cost to make versus how much they make at the box office, and based on his last three films, Forbes estimated that for every dollar Sandler was paid, the film only made $3.40 back. Compare that to a seriously bankable star like Natalie Portman, who rakes in a return of $42.70 for every dollar she makes, and you’ll see why Sandler’s considered overpaid. Not to mention, his net worth is $300 million, and he typically banks more than $20 per role.

Adam Sandler's Sony Worldwide Boxoffice revenue of $3,378.80 million for production budget of $1,148.70 + 2 unknown.
  1. $473.20 Hotel Transylvania 2 $80.00 ANIMATED
  2. $358.40 Hotel Transylvania $85.00 ANIMATED

While it does seem as if his movies are pretty awful, the numbers don't lie.

Aquarius is an NBC show, the first season is on
Nflix. Totally impressed with every aspect of this
show. It's loosely based around Charles Manson
and his 'family' in the late 60's. David Duchovny
is super as an LA cop, best I've seen from him.

They capture the late 60's perfectly. The macho
men, the racism, the brutality of the police. The
drugs and the hippies and the 60's cars. This is
a really good show. Season 2 started today.

Hat's off to Duchovny who spent his early years earning a B.A. in English Literature from Princeton University, an M.A. in English Literature from Yale University and made his first screen appearance in his late 20's.

He may be one of the more literate actors.

He's believable in every role he plays.
I thought Californication was good,
this is even better. I forgot how much
people feared the cops in the 60's,
they could get away with whatever
they wanted, almost.

How to Marry A Millionaire was a fun film (1953) .

CinemaScope was used from 1953 to 1967 and would bring widescreen format to movies to battle the upcoming television. How to Marry a Millionaire was the first film completed in this format, but they delayed the release until after "The Robe" so that families could go to the first widescreen film.

Quote: How to Marry A Millionaire: scene where William Powell (J.D.) breaks up with Lauren Bacall (Schatze) because he is too old

Tell me, do you believe in love at first sight?
Oh, absolutely, J.D.
No question in the world about it.
Well, I don't.
Not at my age, anyway.
Stop talking about your age. You'd think you were as old as Methuselah. Don't you know you're right in the very prime of life?
How old are you?
Forty.
Oh, Schatze, Schatze. That's probably the sweetest lie you've ever told. Twenty-five would be a little more like it, wouldn't it?
But look here, J.D. You don't want to go jumping to conclusions, do you?
Look, it's no use, darling. I'm 56 years old. Thirty years older than you. By your standards, anyway, an old man.
- Oh, no.
- We might support this difference for another four to five years perhaps, but what happens when I'm truly old?
But listen, J.D. I hate young men.
- Thank you very much.
- That's all right.
- Have you got to go already?
- 'm afraid so.
- Well, nighty-night.
- Good night.

I've always liked older men.
Look at Roosevelt.
Look at Churchill.
Look at that old fellow what's-his-name in African Queen.
Absolutely crazy about him.

- So, you see, J.D...

Lauren Bacall had married Humphrey Bogart when she was age 20-21. He was 24 years older.

William Powell was actually age 61 when this film was released, and Lauren Bacall was age 29. So they took 4 years off her age so they could take 5 years off of his. I guess they felt that a man over age 60 marrying a girl in her mid 20's was scandalous. Either that or William Powell was vain.

David Wayne plays Marilyn Monroe's love interest. However, his best part was in Adam's Rib.
